    Hi Guys im in a bit of pickle at the moment, the company i work for is using Joomla as their CMS client. Having a bit of trouble editing the site on Joomla as the status is unwriteable for both html and css code. Help :( Thanks in advance

    That usually means the template they/you are using is locked - you can still edit the content using the standard Joomla editors, from the Admin backend view.

    Are you trying to alter the html/php/css code for the site or template?

    Yes truedub I'm trying to alter the html/php/css code for the site or template, but when I save/apply the new changes this comes up "Operation Failed!: failed to open file /usr/local/pem/vhosts/123600/webspace/httpdocs/demo/templates/theme145/css/template.css for writing."

    Change the permissions of the files to allow the php / httpd user write access to them or alternatively use ftp to make your changes. Think joomla has an ftp module built in for doing this too so you could try that too.

    It does, but it's fiddly. You need a userid for the target system too.

    cheers guys for helping me out, on my ftp changed the file attributes to chmod 777 worked like a charm!! ;);)
