I watched most of it again even though I've seen it about 100 times. The fog closing in on the kid (Andy) and Mrs Kobritz has to be one of the best set pieces in a horror film.

dont worry spooky, a remake is in the works.... hope the original will get plenty of airtime leading up to that. Must admit that watching it at 3am was bit surreal with all the psychedelic colors and sets n all :D

thanks ned for the heads up on the original vacancy flick, think I wont track it down...... i'll inevitably bump into it on one of the satellite channels anyway :)

Horror Channel are running a season of Friday Night "Eurotica" ie a bit of tit and arse from those naughty continental types, tonight is Il trono di fuoco/The Bloody Judge (1970) by Jess Franco with Christopher Lee. the +1 starts at 23.55 hrs. Next Friday its the whacky Venus in Furs again by Franco, then its 99 Women the friday after, which is rubbish.
Eugenie, the Story of Her Journey Into Perversion follows.

They are also wheeling out various Argento flicks and Demons etc to vaguely tie in with the eurotrash theme.

Watched The Loves Ones there recently and really enjoyed it.

Not true horror in a sense but I would include it in this genre.

Didn't know anything about the movie bar it been Australian.

I have seen 100's of worse horror type movies than this.

Juan Piquer Simons sleazy 1981 gore fest Pieces is on Horror channel on Friday at 10.55 (I think)

Watched Tenebrae on the same channel this evening,. Not bad, some typically show camera work, composition (loved the bit with the cop in the final scene) and gore and a decent twist ending, but I would prefer to read subtitles than listen to Italians that sound like they come from Rochdale.
