Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hard to say.

Someone with a bag of nuts is required to bring that place into reality.

Cockser obviously hadn't the stomach to wield the axe.

Internal promotion would ensure the status quo of raping the taxpayer while

the so called elite live high on the hogs back, with no regard for the economic

situation in the rest of the country, and endeavour to emphatise with those

whose main concern is feeding their families and paying their mortgage.

Someone who will challenge the 'elite' is needed ,and who will finally call the

bluff of the overpaid, over cosseted 'stars' and drive a coach and four

through the system where the earnings of the top star determine what the

    rest get.

New broom needed and fast.Time for a major reality check

'Throughout his seven years Cathal retained the sensibilities of a programme maker. Despite the obvious managerial responsibilities of the role, he always understood that programmes and the audience are what RTÉ is here for'.

RTE is here to make cheap imitations of BBC programmes and keep it's overpayed staff and relations in the public eye so they can flog books and indulge their medicore talents.

Jesus wept. That's the sum total of your contribution on the matter, "another bearded Nordie".
I'd agree with Flutterin Bantam on the need to challenge the fat cat contracts of the elite club in RTE. Their sheltered existence bears no resemblance to the commercial reality.

I'd prefer the role to be filled by somone of this state who is not the wearer of a beard.
Beardies are usual union types when special deals and protectionism is not needed in broadcasting and Nordies are nordies. They will think "nordie" about the types of programming that get comissioned and the people who get promoted. Its a different culture.

Maybe someone like Willie O'Reilly? Does he have TV experience? He certainly has plenty radio experience and made a great success of Today FM which was sinking fast when he took over. I wish they'd let him ahve a go at Newstalk too and try and drag it up a bit.

Or maybe they could entice Mark Storey or Conor McNally back??
