    Doncaster 2.15

    Noble Alan 2pts @ 5/1 VC

Looks to be on the improve still and almost guaranteed a good run every time. Top of the ground and less demanding fences will see him go close

    Cheltenham 2.00

    Drever Route 1pt ew @ 12/1 Lads

Showing no signs that he's stopped improving and looks a decent chance for a place with such a consistent record. Stable in form, gropund and trip perfect though yet to be tried at Cheltenham

    Cheltenham 1.30

    The Giant Bolster 1pt @ 9/1

Going very well last time even after jumping errors. Forgiveable against Time For Rupert and this, despite being top weight, looks an easier proposition for a young horse learning but taking well to fences.

    Cheltenham 3.05

    Champion Court 1pt @ 9/1 Boylesport

    Rose of The Moon 1pt @ 16/1 Bet365

Have to take on Backspin because while he won well last time, Court in Motion was given a bad ride in my opinion. He was left way too far back to challenge and in the fog that was forgiveable. Backspin is far too short given that that race isn't what it reads in the form book. Court in Motion Champion Court offers good value with Syberite getting so close to Chablais who looks a very good horse. NTDs yard are awfully under performing around that time and Henderson the oposite so Syberites performance is better than it reads there too reads.

Rose Of The Moon has done little wrong so far and is being rather over looked. getting so close to two of todays market leaders doesn't seem to be given the creedence it deserves and probably the trainers name is helping that. Will probably be better over further jusging by his efforts so far and the improvement shown when stepping up last time. Not without a chance here. (just saw he was 20s last night, ugh!)

    Lingfield 2.25

    Wild Geese 1pt @ 7/2 Will Hill

Blinker applied and chance they could turn form with New Den who got first run last time

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

Shocking pace in the Novice race and did my in at the off. No chance but then its likely that they weren't near good enough. Court in Motion is very interesting if he drifts considering Backspins defeat.

The Giant Bolster won well and looks a bright one for the future.

Drever Route needs plenty more time and probably the same amount of ability

Wild Geese wasw beaten by a springer, heavily backed Money Money Money.

****ing Golden Silver. Backed him last twice against Big Zeb, typically goes and does it today without my money

Should be coming off a reasonable pace and has performed well doing that before. Claimer Lee Newnes takes 5 off.

    Folkstone 4.10

    Sebastiano 1pt @ 5/1

Been running well lately and caught my eye last night at 6s but held off until I could see any support for him. Seems Jamie Moore thinks he could win this if recovering sufficiently from his last race 4 days ago. He sounded positive enough to take 5/1. Third run after a little break should see him at his peak and whith the horse being badly hampered in his last race he got to be value at 5/1.

    Somersby has Champion aim

Somersby is to be aimed by Wantage trainer Henrietta Knight
at the sportingbet.com Queen Mother Champion Chase at the
Cheltenham Festival on Wednesday, March 16.

The West Lockinge handler had been in two minds whether to
target her stable star at the two-mile contest or the Ryanair
Chase over two miles and five furlongs the next day following his
short-head second to Master Minded in the Victor Chandler Chase
    at Ascot.

But she said: “We have decided that his most likely race at
Cheltenham will be the Champion Chase on the Wednesday.
    That is our aim.”

    Kempton 7.20

    Ocean Legend 1pt @ 7/2 Bet365

Fairly difficult race to work out with two potentially well treated horses one coming back off a break in Ongoodform. I like Ocean Legend though because he has a much better draw than the favorite whose park out in the widest stall. OL has a great record over course and distance and chased home some very progressive types in Buateoir and Bravo Echo. The rest of those races havent amounted to much. Hes two third from the rail with one set to be dropped back so looks likely to sit just off the pace on the rail. This should give him everychance to beat the badly drawn favorite. OL came down the far side at Lingfield last time when Buateoir swooped the field off the strong pace set by Miami Gator. He'll be better placed to hold on this time

    Lingfield 1.10

    Shared Moment 2pts @ 4/1 Bet365

Very Well Red has come out and won twice from one of his earlier recent races and with the very sharp Julie Burke taking 5lbs off and his not being penalised for running well lately he looks a worthy favorite and one probably worth backing.

    Lingfield 4.40

    Salient 1pt ew @ 12/1 Will Hill (1/5 Odds, 3 Places)

Taking a chance here with a horse who needs to show more than his recent efforts. The trainer is in decent enough form and the jockey booking is encouraging. He's won 3 times over course and distance and drops back in class over his best distance. There a few in her that I feel should be behind him in the betting that aren't so 1pt ew hoping he can put his best foot forward. It'll be encouraging to see him backed into 9s or even 8s before the off.

    Ryanair Chase

Albertas Run 4pts ew @ 16/1 Stan James

The horse that decieves. He needs good ground - fact. Trainer says it and more importantly the form and our eyes say it. Hes won 8 races (3 Grade 1s) since March 2007. Thats a little devieving even...the first of those was over timber....all of his chase wins bar 1 have come on good ground, the other was on the better side of good to soft. 3 wins at Cheltenham including this race last year mean he fits the profile for course specialists in the Ryanair. Also 2 of the 5 winners of the race have been 10yo and its slightly moot including last years win by a 9yo - that being the AR.

The horse came out of the King George fine according to Jonjo. I've been mulling the bet over and decided to make it now instead of after the Betfair Ascot Chase. He ran well there last year finishing second to Monets Garden and we know Monets Garden wasn't past it or anything having come out and win the Old Roan this season beating Poquelin. Depending on what turns up on the day at Ascot he could get much shorter. SJ are top price now at 16s with the next best 12s generally. Hes definitely aimed at the race and having won it well last year its a little bit of a silly price already. If it pours down on Ascot before the Betfair then he could go longer. In that case, I might press up if he goes to 25s but thats being very optimistic.

Poquelin is a massive danger and he will be around 3/1 on the day and rightly so. His December Gold Cup win was incredible. A saver on him could be on the cards. Tranquil Sea won the Paddy Power last year and has to be a good chance along with J'Vole but they aren't 16s. Serious value to be had.

Another word on Albertas Run: The Ryanair since its inception as a Grade 1 has, for every year bar the first, been won by a horse that stays 3 miles on conventional tracks. Taranis, Our Vic, Imperial Commander and Albertas Run all won over 3m previously or subsequently. The pace they go in the race makes it necessary to stay the trip very well.

    Towcester 2.40

    Orang Outan 1pt @ 28/1 Stan James

Hes been off the track for an awful long time but he can normally be relied upon to put in a good effort. He's won twice over this distance and on softish ground. He's led in the past and with any sense David Bass will be leading and trying to stretch the field and put emphasis on stamina because hes run well over 3m+ while the rest haven't. Hes been given a chance by the handicapper for his almost 2 years off the track and looks over priced even considering his abscence. Hes run well fresh before so doesnt appear to be a stuffy horse and is certainly not without a chance in this sort of company. Worth a small punt at long odds.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

Jaysus! What happened there? Orang Outan goes 16/1 generally from around 20/1 - 25/1 generally. Doesn't taking more than a few beans I'm sure but still...

    Southwell 2.00

Feet Of Fury 1pt @ 2/1 Will Hill

Ran away with a selling handicap that actually is better than it looks as a seller. The second in the race came in off the back of a win and the 3rd and 5th have come out and respectively won on their next starts in handicap proper. Speed raatings have shown FoF to be the fastest of these lot and despite the 11lbs rise in the weights a good jockey in Graham Gibbons takes the ride again and the horsse is in greaat form whiich almost always helps them carry weight. She'll be up on the pace and avoiding kickback from a decent draw. She travelled from stall 9 of 9 last time and went the whole way round iin the 3 path and still won by 6 lengths so this should all balance the issue of the additional weight.
