Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My Brother in law just bought a 2001 Patrol which is in great nic but turbo is not kicking in. Turbo doesnt seem to be gone - just not working..

I heard that it could be some pipe coming off the manifold or an air flow meter..

Anyone had the same problem and how did ye solve it?

    Thanks

Turbo wastegate stuck open? Split intercooler hose?

Does it actually rev up but no poke or not rev at all?

    Dont know that engine specifically.

Is it common rail, or electronically controlled mechanical injection?

If it's common rail it could be any number of components.

But the basic things to check would be all hoses under the bonnet, many modern diesels use vacuum to control various actuators and valves around the engine, if you've a vacuum leak you can be effected.

check all hoses, if any vacuum lines look any way dodgy just replace them all. 5 metres of silicone vacuum hose will cost maybe 20 quid and it's easy work.

After checking those basics you're as well heading to a diesel specialist rather than throwing parts at it.
