New Bass Trap

    As some of you know we represent Unity Audio's gear over here.

    The have a new acoustic module which is a Helmholtz Resonator Bass trap.

    Cool idea. A Helmholtz resonator is difficult to build, and contentious in acoustics circles.

    They've styled it like the old Altec 612 speaker cabinets from Beatles era Abbey Road. Clever! :)

    Yes I spoke to Chris in Munro about this and he said one of the things with Helmholtz'z is their High Q , which is grand if you're solving a particular problem, but less than ideal if you might want to move to another room at some stage.

    However I think I'd prefer a couple of them than 1.5k of foam.
