ok - i need activity suggestions for something to do round sligo this sunday. dinner reservations made for 7 in town, so i was thinking of eagles flying, and something else.

rula bula don't open on sundays and she was a bit too vague on the phone for my liking so that's out. is there anywhere we [adults] could go clay pidgeon shooting, or go karting or have an archery lesson or something? anyone any ideas and links if possible? beaches are fine buy we'd rather DO something, iykwim.

    any idea appreciated :)

hey ge_ch, thanks a million for the reply. we were looking for more of an activity than just going to look at stuff, if that makes sense. had a look on the discover ireland site and found a clay pidgeon shooting range, gave him a ring and booked us in for 12 o'clock - sorted!!!

    thanks again!!!

this is why i love boards :D

i know what you mean. there isnt really much in sligo except golfing, surfing and climbing. everything else is outside sligo.
never even heard of the clay pidgeon shooting. where is that?

yeah - we've just been craving a bit of excitement or activity or... something  there's a socking lack of these kind of activities in sligo, if yer not a surfer or a climber or a golfer :D

as of the clay pidgeon shooting, it's kinda hard to describe - he doesn't have a website but i found this which has a kind-of map. The guy was really nice and friendly on the phone. So looking forward to it now :p

There is a wonderful, free family day happening at The Model this Sunday from 1-3, the first of a free 8-week children's workshop programme.

Roll Up, Roll Up. We’re very very excited to have the Barren Carrousel Street Circus troupe coming to The Model on Sunday to launch our Summer workshop programme. They’ll be doing a free show for all the kids in Sligo, at The Model from 1-3pm this Sunday 25th July to launch our free summer programme of weekend workshops for kids. Come and take a ride into the decrepit world of these bumbling crusaders that have peddled far and wide from the mountain tops of Siberia to the Glens of Antrim. Ruby Barren has devoted her life to perfecting her art form and setting impossibly high standards that only she can achieve. Her daughter Tulip, a child prodigy, desperately attempts to live up to her mother’s expectations only to be upstaged by her two left feet.

So come on Sunday to marvel at the:Death-Defying Trapeze, Back Cracking Contortion, Jaw Dropping Acrobatics, Fearless Aerial Feats, Giant Ball Juggling and Live Musical Mayhem…may all your days be circus days!

This performance takes place outside the new entrance of The Model on Connaughton Rd and all are welcome.

i understand and respect completely your right to advertise what's on in the model for free on boards, but i don't think this was relevant to this thread.... [if you had read it] ....adults seeking an outdoor activity....:confused::confused:

Are you still looking for suggestions or are you just going with the clay pidgeon shooting? Sure you could fit a few things in! :D
Theres go karting out the sligo to ballina road, close to ballina so might be too far out for ye. What about horse riding, loads of places around sligo, can personally reccommend markree riding stables in collooney, lovely trek around the grounds and in and around union woods, don't have to be an expert either to do it, horses are pretty much bombproof and you could nearly do the whole thing in walk if you want! :D
