Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the bike to work scheme is still up and running as the company I work for have, after much pressure from a few of us, recently agreed to take part and are setting it up at the moment.
However the rumor mill has started saying that it has been cancelled till 2011 :( , hope this is not the case as it will most likely bite the bullet in the next budget as the bankers deserve the money much more than the rest of us
    Thanks Rusty

The scheme is still in place, and I think it highly unlikely that the tax benefits will be removed

There was a suggestion that this could happen in the an Bord Snip report, but to be honest the cost to the government of providing the tax relief is very low (and will decrease after the initial take-up). They know it is a popular scheme, and the Greens would not go along with its abolition. Hence I personally think it is safe for the forseeable future

This scheme will run from January 2009 onwards. Each month there will be a deadline for applications, which will be the payroll deadlines, as per your companies policy.
Employees should have their vouchers shortly after the application deadline.

www.biketowork.ie are an independent company who provide services to employers who may wish to adopt the scheme. They have nothing to do with the Government, and the refernces to monthly deadlines and vouchers above are solely to do with the schemes they operate.

Other employers may operate their schemes differently - for example some Government departments allow applications up to a particular deadline each year. If you miss a deadline, you have to wait until the following year to apply.

Some employers pay the bike shop directly - there is no need to adopt a voucher scheme (which in effect restricts choice, as the vouchers can only be redeemed at participating retailers)

    stay away from them plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

they take 10% commision , 10% a bike shop could give you

they charge your company 10% for paperwork etc , so a bikeshop may not be able to offer u this discount
