That old already? Damn time flies.

I can remember clearly when I got it too.

Was over in Limerick, where I know live, staying there for some of the summer that year, and went into a place called Tony's Music Scene, a place I spent a hell of a lot of time when in Ireland, which was in the now long gone O'Connell Mall across from the Royal George hotel.

Chatting away to Tony as always and he popped the cassette up onto the counter and reckoned I would like it. He played the first song over the shop speakers (it was a metal and punk store) and I loved it, but not as much as I loved the cover for some reason.

It's funny how you can remember exactly where you got some albums. I guess the ones you love that you bought in a different town and country to where you were living at the time stand out.

Same goes for Rust In Piece and Never Neverland which also came out that year. Got both of those in Ireland as well, and can remember clearly playing Never, Neverland over and over and over on the train out of Dublin after getting them in the Soundceller on Nassau street.

Although I think my most endearing and enduring memories of buying music will always be from my time growing up in Liverpool. Pete Burns was the shop assistant in Probe records and looking for metal there in and around the 1982 to 1984 mark was an experience sometimes if he was in a strop over something. :D I should thank the man though, I think he played a big part in me being a sarky git, having had many war of words with him over music when I was a nipper. :)

On the 24th July 1990, one of the best albums ever released was launched.

After being weaned on Metallica and Slayer (earlier that year for the latter), this simply blew me away as a 12 year old. My highlights of the album were:

An incredible album by an incredible band, the only shame, is that Pantera cannot be together for this Anniversary and get the chance to amend their differences. Truly, this album changed the face of Metal

A great album - largly changing the metal playing field for the future, paving the way for many more groove metal bands.

One of the true "metal" bands that managed to grow in popularity through the grunge era.

    RIP dimebag

    Wrong album. :p

Yeah I like this album but I find the sound of the guitar on some songs a bit annoying sometimes. I prefer them live.

I love Cemetary Gates, the lyrics really are something special... Phenomenal track. I never realised how good Phil's range is until you hear how high he can sing, harmonises & changes pitch (I dunno the correct terms :P) and also the power in his voice. Hard to believe he was only 21 when that was recorded.

I love Cowboys from Hell, Domination & Psycho Holiday too. The drums and solos just rock... and yea, groove is a very accurate description! Ah! Almost forgot the Art of Shredding! Mind blowing! :D

    What an album!
