Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Clarke gone with a questionable decision run out, he was out, but the decision to go for the second run was poor i think, or at least he should have dived, out by about an inch, poor

Australia need 7 from 7 with tailenders at the crease

Great innings from Clarke but he really should have finished it

What a match, Australia win, where does it **** among the highest run chase in the history of one day cricket?

Both teams turned up. Great match

    Where does it what!?

Great game but England still could not defend 333. Looks like Australia will be favourites for the World Cup.

Brilliant game, Only got up for the Aussie's batting what a chase.

I taught it was slipping away at times. Great knock from Clarke
really pushed on towards the end.

Australia looking really good for WC some confidence in that side.

Shame the rest of the series hasn't been as good/close, not sure any game of cricket "does it" for me THAT much though ;)

Dead rubber or not it was easily one of the best matches in recent times

A few facts about the match......

It is indeed the highest total ever chased down by Australia and is the highest total ever chased down in a match in Australia. (previous best was SL chasing down 303 against England in that famous Muralitharan 'no ball' match)

It is also the highest successful run chase against England (previous best was India chasing down 326 in that great final at Lords in 2002)

Australia warming up nicely for the World Cup

In with a good chance, no doubt, but without a top class spinner on the sub-continent, against better opposition, I wouldn't put my house on them.

Not with the bookies. India are hot favs while Sri Lanka are 2nd favorites. South Africa are 3rd favorites, while Australia are 4th favorites.

I can understand India and Sri Lanka being short odds with home advantage but the Aussies have shown great resilience coming back at England after taking a thrashing in the Ashes series.

Would love to see an India V Australia final (assuming Ireland loses out in the semi-finals!).

Gotta have India and Sri Lanka amongst the favorites to win given the conditions, but cant count out Australia England or South Africa tbh

Eoin Morgan is out of the last game of the One-Day series with a fractured finger. A less than glorious end to Englands tour of Aus with all the hammerings and the injurys. Only 9 members of World Cup Squad fit.

    Still:

    Not all bad.

Really the only thing that will be remembered about this Ashes tour in a few years is the score in the Ashes Test matches

I think its been a disappointing tour because of the general one sided ness of both forms of the game, not many real contests.

If the WC was played outside the sub-continent I would fancy Australia to win it, they have been very good, against a very average England team.

    Let's not be forgetting Dougeh's 30 :pac:

Strauss tops and tails his tour with first over duck....

England hammered again, Australia outplayed England in all areas of the one day series to win it 6 - 1. Thoroughly deserved.

Anyone else a Jimmy Anderson fan?

Found this 'team mates' style Q&A with him about The Ashes win and tour of Oz - pretty funny.

Love his thing on the Sledging and the Matt Pryor haircut!!
