if your dog is enjoying the 30 min then its no problem

if it looks tired then cut the time down abit

The general rule of thumb, to prevent damaging any joints is 5 minutes per month of life, so for a 4 month old that would be 20 minutes a day.

The 30 minute walk you're doing, is it straight walking, or is it ambling along, with lots and lots of sniffing and stopping? If its the latter, that will be fine.

I know from experience a 30 min walk with a 4 month old pup could be a 10 min walk if you were alone:D
I went with the 5mins per month rule, but mine both had a daily walk, on grass, off lead in a safe place. As well as a short walk around the block. If walking on soft ground its easier on the joints/muscles/bones so can be a little longer.
A lot depends on breed too, but don't know too much about Cav's myself, so don't know their health issues.

Ambling along with plentry of sniffing but normally on footpath but i can walk on grass verge no big deal.
He doesnt seem tired as hes still full of play when we get home.

That should be fine :) It's important for socialising the puppy anyway and getting him used to walking on the lead.
