Anyone know why you are unable to ship Tayto to the UK?

You can ship them anywhere else in world, except the UK.

I know there is a Tayto N.Ireland, but they are not the same. Different packaging etc

Can anyone shed light on this?

I did hear the Irish Shop in London sells them. The Tayto in NI is a totally different company and product. There was speculation that they would buy the Tayto brand down here before the guys who make Perri crisps bought the brand. Perhaps its like Bulmers/Magners were Bulmers Ireland don't own the brand name in the Uk so have to call it Magners.

Aye, I'd reckon Corsendonk is on the right track there.

Yes, it would be a trademark thing. Some retailer posts on boards, he got a load of batchelors super noodles in the UK and got a letter from batchelors ireland saying he had to stop selling them. They are mcdonnells supernoodles here, and not batchelors -the beans guys.

I know Home Bargins chain of discount stores carry proper cheese and onion Taytos, though only seen them reguarly in the Shrewsbury store.
