Is there anyway to remove the o2 firmware from an unlocked Nokia 3710? I would like to replace it with a generic firmware.

Certainly Nokia are not too keen on this as they will only give you the o2 firmware via their software update. There are many better firmwares out there but because of Nokia you are not allowed access them.

Once you have a micro usb cable (dont think it comes with one) you can do it yourself iirc. This is the one you need if im not mistaken: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.31499

The cable is not the issue.

The issue is getting a firmware.

Well if you change the product code, the updater gives you the generic firmware. And which product code you use, depends on what RM model it is, and what colour.

How do you change the product code?
