If 30 screaming ****s as you call them aren't listening to you, your probably in the wrong job.

If you can't understand the difference between "your" and "you're" then you're probably never going to get the job, regardless of screaming ****s.

Sorry but I'm a product of the Irish Education system, what can I say?

In the days of the Celtic tiger people scoffed at our profession because of the pay. Now the tables have turned ..... Different story.

This attitude is common and bugs me. Why must we maintain the status quo when the country is broke? Those same people who you have "turned the tables on" are paying your wages and they want to see less waste - not to be told: "Oh if you don't like it, why don't you become a teacher?" That's basically admitting their suspicions that you're on easy street.

No matter how long you keep them in positions with no accountability

Welcome to try it any day and see how easy it is. Would love to see how you would cope in an inner city school when kids come to school hungry and no interest in learning because of lack of parental support, family breakdown, addictions etc. you don't just walk into a class and hey presto. There is a lot more to it than you think.

Not true... Im accountable to my principal, my vice principal, my students, my parents. Above all, I am accountable to myself. I do an honest days work and work very hard. Conscience clear.

I never said it was easy; you're deflecting the argument. If I'm actually welcome to walk into your class and teach people then you must have a lot of leeway though!

The students get divided up in other classes which are already overcrowded. They get enough holidays as it is.

It seems so funny reading posts by people giving out about the teacher EPV days......so you have a gripe against teachers.... If you think the job is that wonderful then go and be a teacher, the job is open for everyone!!!!
Actually, It has never been easier with back ways into training to become a primary teacher... so if one didn't get the points to do it the straight degree route and you go back and do a post-grad you will even get paid more!!! Since an interest in IT then just to let you know you can even become a teacher by doing an online course now....so it's there for you if you want it!!!!!!
