    having burgers tonight on the insistence of wifey.

    any suggestions as to what are the ultimate burger buns ?

    Superquinn baps, either crusty or floury are pretty good. I really steer away from 'bundies' they're too sugary.

    I like those ciabatta breads you bake yourself. You can get them in a squareish shape as well. Also fond of a burger in a pitta bread. mmm

    Most of these are big buns, you would want at least a 6oz burger (a 1/4lb is 4oz). These would be "big al big eats" or similar, if you are not making your own. I HATE been given a massive bun with a puny little burger in the centre of it.

    My recipe changes depending upon whats in the fridge but last time was,

    Mince
    1 grated/diced onion
    1 grated garlic clove
    Good squeeze of ketchup
    couple of tea spoons of djyon mustard
    few squirts of soy sauce
    glug of chilli sauce.
    perhaps an egg to bind.

    tasty.
