Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cycle to work scheme - student

OK I'm aware that there's a few posts on here re: the cycle to work scheme, but I couldn't find any that answered my question. First let me tell you my situation. I'm a postgraduate student who would like to be eligible for the cycle to work scheme but I am not as I don't have a job. However, say for example I had someone who owns a small business and is agreeing to cut me the check for a bike under one of their employee's names (who doesn't want to avail of the scheme) and I pay them back the cash, could Mr. Taxman track this and somehow find out the truth of my dastardly scheme? For all intents and purposes it would be the actual employee that would be getting the bike (on paper anyway). I wouldn't consider it if its a thing that the employee gets affected in any way but it would be a sweet way for me to get a bike on the cheap.

So like I said above, is there anyway this could be found out by the taxman, and also would it affect the employee who's name is used in anyway.

    Advice greatly appreciated!
