Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know there has been some interest in a winter jacket. However Carvalho have a number of jacket types to chose from:

    Training jacket
    Drystorm jacket
    Rain jacket
    Minerva Jacket

    Can we decide on one?

    Thanks,
    Joe.

It's the training jacket that we want :) It also has a lot of rain resistant on it, but it's not waterproof.

I received an email from Charlie Cutler asking me to get some feedback on some new software they are developing to faciliate kit ordering. By the sounds of his email it would make the ordering process a lot easier. Could you have a read of the following and tell me if you would be happy to use it.

    Thanks,
    Joe.

    We are currently developing some
new software to make the ordering process easier and I would like to ask if
you and other Boards members would be able to offer any opinions.

The idea of the new software is that each club would have a page on our
site, which would be controlled by the kit administrator from that club. The
administrator would decide which items the club would be ordering and then
individual members from the club could log on to the page, input their
details and place their personal orders. The software will then consolidate
these individual orders into a single order form, which the administrator
will receive as well as a list of all the individual orders with their
    addresses (email and actual).

Each club member would have a personal log in where they could set up and
amend their order and where they could also see the total price they would
    pay (including postage where applicable).

The kit administrator will then be able to send out an automatic email to
all the club members who have ordered when it is time to pay and a paypal
link will be automatically generated for those wishing to pay by paypal on
their personal page, with payments going to the club administrator rather
than to us. The administrator would then just pay us as per usual.

The idea is just to make the kit administrator's job a lot easier, as rather
than having to collect individual orders by email, phone, text or whatever
(!), it will all be done automatically. However, the order will still be
controlled only by the kit administrator and we at Carvalho Custom will just
receive the consolidated order form as we do now, when you are ready to
    place the order.

I would be interested to know if you think you would use this system if it
were available and if so are there any extra functions you think would be of
    interest.

Sounds very good, less hassle for the one who is organizing the order. The only concern is if we could have different/multiple administrators, as I don't know if the same person would be willing to repeat the process.

I was thinking that too but I think we could add a new admin for each order. We double check though.

But is it still in development do you know or ready to be deployed soon so that it can be used?

Don't close it yet - there may be questions. Like this one ...

Is there an option to get your boards username on the shirt/shorts? There was in the last order iirc.

Macros42 - I'm sure we can if it's important to you. I am however trying to keep the order as simple as possable.

I don't think it would be a wise idea, as not only the added logistical annoyance it causes, you will also have to get someone to produce the name tags (if you want them in the same style as the last ones) and if there are any errors in sizing/zip length/sleeve length there is no real resale value/return on the jersey either.

Also, on a practical level it is already hard enough to get boardies to call me by my real name rather than my stupid online name.

Having "Loo man" shouted across the pub at me is a bit embarrassing.

You forget, I know all your real names, you fools and your e-mails, there is no anonymity on this internet cycling forum.

That said the lack of privacy has never affected the ability of anyone on this forum to put down encourage the opinions of others.

Mwah ha ha ha ha ha ha etc.

    Fair enough.

I was guilty of that on Sunday (although I had no idea what your real name was). However, you were making such a pathetic job of opening a container of water at the time, I decided you needed space. ;)
