Uncle Petes and Novocento tower over all others.

    La Tana isn't bad.

Fast Als produces incredibly over-priced dog ****. It's quite literally cheese on toast and you get the privilege of paying €3.50 for a slice.

Pizza in Amicus is incredibly bland. Tasteless.

Sober Lane pizza is almost exactly like the pizza you would get in Italy. Very thin base.

I couldn't agree with you more on this. I expected much better for the price/reputation.

Do Novocento do any vouchers? Where would i pick them up?

Ok, I had La Tana Pizza - delivery was really fast and it was still steaming when it arrived. And I live across the river from them. The toppings were unreal - proper meat and veg… and the toppings were so generous.. 4 star etc should see them - they are a laugh. However, while all the former is true and great, the pizza's were a bit soggy! I think its just the fact that they are put in a box and so the steam makes them so. Delivery pizza may not be my thing. I would love to try it straight out of the oven. Anyone else find this?

I'm a big fan of Pizza d'Italia on grand parade, always have been.

Sober lane's pizza's are top class too, can't beat a Sober lane special and a pitcher of beer.

I have been to La Tana twice (as I bought two offers online) and to be honest I did not think the pizza was great. The ingredients looked a bit old and the pizza was not very flavoursome.

One of the times I took it to the pub down the road and ate it there (being able to do that is amazing).

The only place I have had an outstanding pizza is Tony's Bistro on North Main St (I never ever thought I would say that but oh my god it was delicious!). Apart from that I love the pizza in the Blue Haven in Kinsale :)

+1 to sober lane pizza also

They used do loyalty cards, buy 10 get one free or something like that.
Their pizza were actually alot nicer when they first started off, still not bad, better than 4star etc.
Gino's & Sober lane have the nicest at the moment IMO.

Grabone have a voucher at the moment. I wouldn't have thought of their pizzas as being that good though?

Also, did I see right that Novecento have another place now on McCurtain St.? Same gang as Douglas St.? Or have they moved?

I absolutely second this, the bases are thin, the toppings are delish, especially the four cheese. Pastas are great too. Go at lunchtime when it's cheaper!

Friend of mine built a pizza oven in his garden, best pizza I ever had.

Pizzas my favourite food and four star is the tastiest I've had by far!

Shame no one agrees with me :(

Had a pizza from the volcano pizza stall in Mahon on Thursday and it was amazing. We're thinking of building our own wood fired oven this summer, if we get the weather for it.

Funnily enough, I find Apache Pizza in Parchment Square the tastiest. It might be the fact that it's a tenner for a 15" that's tipping the scales though....

I wouldn't say tastiest by far, but they are much better than Dominoes which don't taste right at all.

My stomach is usually in bits after eating a Four Star Pizza the next day though.

Yup, when Fast AL's first opened, it was - hands down - the best pizza in Cork.
Now it really is rubbish only fit for drunks with no taste.
It's a shame when greed destroys quality.
I remember being in there in the early days and seeing Al hand kneading the dough. He didn't like the results from the dough hook!

I got slice on the way home from the pub the other night (brother bought me it) , it was like cheese on toast it didn't even taste like pizza.

    Novocento on McCurtain Street.
Amazingly good pizza if you like the classic Italian version anyway.
