I would imagine the sightlines are good enough for 120km/h, sure they are limited by the topography of the area but if they are doing it they may as well do it right.

If that isn't capable of doing 120km/h and has a lower limit then it would be fair to have speed cameras there, enough people have been killed on the old Ballinameesda bends

Wouldn't there have to be a final safety inspection/audit before approval is given to open it? Also wouldn't alternative route for non-motorway traffic have to be fully completed too?

Lat week in July before Bank Holiday weekend would be great.

Does that have to be complete before an unofficial opening, I.e. Could it be opened and then inspections get completed ahead of official opening or could they be done in tandem?

Local road, category below regional. They rarely have junctions with motorways but cases exist where one or both sides of a junction are L roads. Including one further up the M11 actually.

The new slipway onto motorway from beehive seems very long.

There appears to be no exit to beehive heading from rathnew on new carrageway unless its going to be a slip way off onto current n11 where it joins new road at minute?

But the old road is R772 From ballinabarney to rathnew i.e old N11

the only other road i can think of is rocky road to wicklow

For some of the route the current R772 will have to give its number to the current N11 when it becomes R772. Might be the case?

I could be wrong, but I thought GoSafe can only go where there has been fatal incidents in the past. As this is a new piece of road, then there can't have been any fatalities on it.

Are there any GoSafe vans operating on any of the M-roads?

As far as i know, go safe cannot go on motorway standard road, and yes they are supposed to focus on accident black spots, but recently I have seen them trying to hide in relatively safe stretches of HQDC.

Loads of people driving round and round the roundabouts yesterday and today as they didn't get the diversions, but not an indicator amongst them, so warning for any of you driving this stretch, don't assume the oncoming cars are going with the main traffic when you're joining any of the roundabouts!
Driving on the new patch northbound after Beehive is lovely and quiet on the new Tarmac :D
And as said above, there doesn't seem to be an off ramp southbound at the Beehive, for now at least.

Interesting that they've replaced a notorious set of bends with an extremely bendy bit of new road (I appreciate they're restricted by the topography and the pictures are probably compressing perspective).
I was thinking the same but one of the things that made the bends on the old road was the presence of side road turnoffs in the vicinity. This isn't the case now.

Today I was heading south on the N11 about 5pm.

After you have finally completely cleared the roadworks and are on a free flowing HQDC/Mororway (just before the Arklow North exit) - but still within the idiotically extended 60kph roadworks speed limit - was a Go-"safe" van.

    Safety?

    No, a sick joke.

Drove through it yesterday. No problems at all if you watch for the signage.

The northbound bit at the very north of the scheme where you've just been shunted onto the new bit of motorway is nice. Its still all one lane, but the surface is amongst the smoothest I've been on. Not quite as good as the N6 Galway - Ballinasloe, which is the best bit of motorway we have, but not too far behind.

I'm almost positive the speed limit was back up at 100 by then. If not, there was no increase from there until 120 and a lot of people were caught out (me included!).

The Wicklow People wouldn't be known for its journalistic accuracy!

Anyway, if mid July is right, it's hard to believe that in four weeeks time we could have a completed motorway. When he get to use said motorway might be a different question.
