Two and a half weeks. There isn't that much left to do though. The two link ups at either end and it's basically finished. They are on the road when I go past at 7 and are still there at half six in the evenings.

at junctions, the motorway is lit. I see currently the exit roads are light ( and the r-abouts) but I see no approach lighting on the motorway

From Wexford Bus - this doesn't tally with a 13th of July opening?
ARKLOW STOP: Monday 29th June to Friday 17th July.
From Monday 29th June, Wicklow County Council will be closing a section of the N11 to commence work to merge the old N11 with the new road. To facilitate this all traffic will use the Old Dublin Road (Ext 20) as the Main thoroughfare until work is completed. As a result of these works taking place we will be unable to serve our Arklow stop for the duration of this work. We have been advised that the estimated date of completion of this work is Friday 17th July.
We advise all passengers intending to travel from Arklow to board our service at either Gorey Main Street or Jack Whites. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

Wicklow news seem to suggest the 13th
New traffic layout on N11 from Monday

From next Monday the 29th of June until 13th July in order to facilitate construction of the new N11 dual carriageway between Arklow and Rathnew, all traffic will be diverted onto the Ballymoyle link road.

Motorists are advised to allow additional time for their journeys. They are also urged to take great caution on the approach to this diversion.

I need to commute daily from Gorey to South dublin next week, arriving into m50 junction 13 around 9:30am

For those that use the road daily what will commute time be with these roadworks.

    Thanks

    W.

My guess would be an hour to 1:10. Some delays around the roadworks and some around Bray.

Looking at that Wicklow news map/drawing why can't Wexford bus drop people to Arklow?

I guess because most passengers on the bus are trying to get to Dublin/Airport ASAP!

But where does it normally drop off/pick up passengers, the detour isn't blocking access of traffic to Arklow. The bus will get stuck in the diversion route regardless.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,695 ✭✭✭jd

Their Arklow stop is at Junction 20 - I think they were told it would have to be temporarily closed while the detour is in place

    Great pics!

Can't help but notice that many of the landscape "standard" trees are suffering badly from the very dry weather - expect many casualties.
