If Bull Breeds weren't so people loving then Bruce would have come out of this experience deranged and aggressive. I don't know what more proof the powers that be need that BSL is absolute nonsense!

This entire story has absolutely sickened me since I first heard about it - and this just caps it. THANK GOD sanity prevailed in the end and shame shame shame on the perpetrators of this abuse. Well done EGAR I hope your actions can sow some seeds of doubt in the corrupted NI system...

Is Bruce's original family still in the picture or had they given up?

He is getting alot of positive press and I am pushing for the story to go national. This needs to be used to maximum effect to hammer home idiocy of Breed Specific Legislation. To condemn an animal to death solely because of the way it looks is ridiculous and based on an irrational fear and of course the media frenzy.

I've had calls from tabloids but refused to talk to them as they are the ones who labelled Bull Breeds *devil dogs* and attributed supernatural powers to them such as locking jaws and a will to kill anything moving.

I am dealing in facts and facts solely.

As to the ex-owner, suffice to say, she has not been in touch with me and was notoriously hard to deal with from day 1. The last appeal was not funded by her, nor were the breed ID's. She refused to pay although there were plenty of people who would have helped her out.

Oh my, I'm sorry to hear this. I would thought that she'd want her dog to be vindicated and end up in a good safe home if he couldn't be with her. But then I don't know her or her situation so I'll say no more.

Thats awful as it seemed she and her family where the ones who started the whole campaign and it was based on "get bruce back to his family they need him".Never mind it worked out much better for bruce in the end he couldn't have ended up in a better place than with you Egar, well done I have been following you on facebook and he looks soo happy, oh and bailey is a complete stunner!

Great article, probably the only positive I've read with a Bull Breed in it.
The only issue I would have with it was that it appears to ok the fact that some breeds have to be muzzle and leashed and while this is a step up from NI law which calls for Pit Bull lookie likies to be PTS its still BSL and still wrong.
Guess its baby steps and we shouldn't run before we can walk, its just a subject close to my heart.
Once again well done on the great job you've done with Bruce, lets hope his story will open some eyes.

Oh this is wonderful news! I heard about Bruce several months ago and the story appalled and disgusted me, I am so happy to know that this story had a happy outcome. Egar, fair play to you for the work you've done and I hope this gets some changes made to that STUPID breed law. Three cheers for Bruce!

Bruce made it into the national press today with a feature in the Irish Examiner. I am so very pleased, it isn't often that positive stories about Bull Breeds make it into national newspapers!
