Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

1 - 0 is highly flattering to Rovers to be honest.

    Jinx!

Apparently Amauri is a new signing for Jew-ventus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,415 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

That was a penalty. Jaysus, Hand is wretched in the commentary box.

    Sorry! :o

That ends that anyway. Probably deserved. Gonna be a nightmare next week in 2nd leg. 5 or 6-0 probably if they even bother.

    Unlucky. Ball was always rising.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,438 ✭✭✭frantic190

They change to 442 and that happens

At least it may give them a better chance of nicking a goal now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Rovers shouldn't have went 4-4-2, they're just getting completely overrun in midfield now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,595 ✭✭✭baldbear

If Rovers score once over the two legs then they will be happy enough.
The crowd are gone mute now. 5-0 agg i'd say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,415 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

lol, lovely bit of skill from Amauri there. He's playing with a real swagger.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,393 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Is Amauri a regular starter for Juventus?

I don't know much about him.

They're still boisterous. Not as loud as before but they're still making a bit of noise.

Just one goal from Rovers would be great.

4 - 4 - 2 is a beaten docket of a formation, rapidly disappearing from the highest levels of the game. That people call for it all the time in these types of situations is lol. The trick is to find ways of getting bodies forward from a five man midfield / or break it up into three distinct lines beyond the defense.

    HINT: Juventus are not playing 4 - 4 - 2!!!

    Del Piero, legend.

One of my all time favourites.

Then the Shams fans chant ''You've never played for Rovers!'' at him :D.

Yes it was. The replay was very clear on that.

As for the rest, I don't consider your opinion on good / bad posts in anyway relevant.

Commentator says Amauri is on his competitive debut.

He's been playing for Juventus for 2 friggin' years!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,522 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    LL.

    Have you:

    1) a hard on for Amauri?

    2) Something against Rovers?

Oh my god, Eoin Hand you fool.

2-0 is fair enough id say but a goal for rovers wouldnt be undeserved either. They gave them a game until the the 2nd goal went in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Oh Eoin, lack of research there!!! Del Boy got a way over the top reception there!!

As mentioned no and he did have a stinker last season. But before Juve, playing for Palermo he was brilliant. Very Drogba-esque. Clinical, creative and held the line on his own very well.

This really has been a fantastic debut for Amauri.

I'm just posting on what I'm seeing here. Amauri has been brilliant, albeit against poor opposition. I have no strong feelings on Rovers either way.

Meh, Juventus have never had to get out of second gear. Any attempt to pretend otherwise would be pure delusion.

The contrast in attack is quite staggering.

Rovers did very well. Bayly and Sives in particular had good games I thought.

"Shamrock Rovers are trying to bring on 25..who's 25?..Oh it's Bayly, they're taking him off"

I think I'll watch it on the Italian channel next week, not RTÉ.

    Shocking commentary.

yet was able to own the midfield?

doesn't say much for the shams mid does it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,397 ✭✭✭Paparazzo

Rovers had a good 10-15 minutes start to the second half. Other than that, juve pretty much dominated and looked comfortable at the back, could have easilly been 5-0.
Diego was great in the first half, he should have taken a few more shots, good to see juve passing it around. I think juve are missing a couple of quality wide players.

Jaysus he should be owning an Eircom League team's midfield in all fairness. I agree that he's not very good at the top level.
