Either way the illegal camps should also be dismantled and destroyed.

Eh you do know that Roma Gypsies are not all from Romania?

But sure why would the facts get in the way of a good ole round up?

Probably some country that will let them in without hassle, give them the dole and tolerate their shenanigans.

    I wonder where....?

As much as I'm not a big fan of the Roma gypsys, I don't think singling out one ethnicity is the best way to bring forth togetherness and stuff like that. Making people feel excluded doesn't get anything done. It would make a lot more sense for all countries to say no job,no fixed abode, go home and for that to go for all immigrants.
Do you not remember the burkha ban from a few weeks back?
Sarkozy sees a problem in his society, he fixes the problem, then he ****s Carla Bruni.
    The man is my hero.

I'd imagine the last country they were in before arriving in France.

    Roma =/= Romanian.
    The names are just similar.

+1. Also don't even as an EU migrant don't you have to get work at some stage? Surely you can't sponge off the system permanently?

I think we should immediately deport anyone illegally in the country be they Roma, Australians, Pamela Izevbekhai or whatever.

Hurry up and do so, then. All talk, no action as usual from the armchair xenophobes.

jesus here we go, and we only needed to page 2 before the xenophobe label was bandied about...racist anyone?

i just hate thieving begging b'astards...doesn't matter what race colour or creed they are

To prove how tolerant and un-xenophobic one is. Of course what xenophobia has to do with using legal means to counteract illegal immigrants is beyond me.

Yes. I think she's taking her case to the European court.
Its under consideration by her and her legal team I think.

I'll use my vote to speak for me.
If any politician is wise enough to stand up and say that illegal immigrants should be deported, then they will get my vote.

    Don't forget:
"THEY CAME FIRST for the Communists,
    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.

THEN THEY CAME for the trade unionists,
    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.

THEN THEY CAME for the Jews,
    and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

    THEN THEY CAME for me
and by that time no one was left to speak up."

Indeed, but the Roma have shown that they can be vicious as well as just being a plague on society, so I support this move by Sarkozy 100%.

Oh shove it. I can't stand people who come out with crap like "If X get elected, then I'm leaving the country", be they celebrity or or standard person alike. if you make a statement similar, have the courage of your convictions to go through with it, much the swame as "I'm moving to X, their policies are great" everytime some single targeted xenophobic policy gets mooted by a country.

If you think the policy is so great and you want it in this country, then get off your ass and work for it to be in this country, just don't sit and moan on the internet.

FWIW, I'm certainly not a fan of thievery or begging regardless of where the person is from, and I do believe illegal immigrants should be deported one fair and due process has been completed, but the policy should be the same for everyone, not a "Round up the gypsies" type of thing that has the mouth breathers on here drooling.

If you can't see how a specific policy to deal with one particular race of people negatively is inherently racist then I don't know what to tell you.
