Since Property Tax & Water Rates haven't been ruled out of the Budget in December, as a tenant, I am wondering who will be responsible for paying the Property Tax?

Will it be the tenant or the landlord? I would assume landlord, since he stands to gain fiancially (or lose ), from the house's value?

As for Water Rates, I guess that it is the tenants who will pay that, which is fair enough.

    What do others think?

Will we even see Property Tax & Water Rates? Will it afffect prices, rents, etc?

    Thats not unreasonable.

However, I imagine the legislation will be phrased such that the landlord (or perhaps owner) is ultimately responsible for both being paid. I would hope that it is also phrased such that while the water bill can be passed on, the property tax bill can't.

All this however is contingent on water meters for all apartments / flats being present.
