Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I'm currently using a Canon EOS 300D. Would I notice a significant improvement with a 500D? 30D?

    It kind of depends.

I'd recommend the 30D if you camera feels slow and you don't like the build quaility of it. The 30D has 5FPS and the AF will be quicker than the 300D (I know I used to own one and moved to a 20D)

But if you're happy with the size and would like HD video and Live view( minor upgrades really) and a slightly better camera then go for the 500D.

To be honest, When I was using my 300D any other camera I used even a 350D felt like a better camera, It was one of the first cheap ish SLR's and was made very cheaply at the time. Components in the newer cameras are smaller and cheaper to make and usually alot quicker.

Hopefully you can find something helpful in that cause it looks like I was just blabbering!

you won't notice a significant improvement in your photography, which i suppose is the bottom line. the new one might be easier to use, or last longer on a charge, etc. etc.
