    Sao Paulo V Fernerbache

Think Fernerbache won 3-2 on aggregate. I was pushing for an equaliser in the 2nd game but just couldn't find it. Could have got 2 cheap goals, 1 in either game, but for some reason I decided to do the nice thing and kick the ball out of play:P

Yeah the score was 2-0 to me ib first game and 2-1 to you in the second one. I'd have done the same honestly if you did it I swear. Good games though.

The fixture lists have been edited now.

Could Sunderland and PSV please play their matches ASAP so we can continue to the next round. Thanks.

Also, the following matches may be played now:

Two very close matches there. First time playing as PSV, I definitely won't be rushing out to pick them once I go out of this!

    Crosáidí - czam2007 - Lazio

When are you around to play?

    Should be on tonight emmetmcl.

    I guess so ha

But deportivo were extremely lucky, I must have hit the post 6 or 7 times over the 2 games and keeper saving shots in the six yard box.

Absolutely. I just knew it wasn't going to be your day when you hit the inside of the post, and it went straight across the goal, and curled out for a corner.

    Deportivo 1 - 2 Fernebache.
    Fernebache 2 - 3 Deportivo.

Yeah, sorry I didn't mention it earlier, if you are equal on goal difference, play a third match and go to penalties if required.

Yeah I thought the same too, thats why I messaged Deportivo saying for a third game, as I was robbed :p

Ill wait for the guy whos running this to clear it up, ill play a third game if it needs to be.

I think the rules where kind of made up as we went along, to be fair to Emmet this was probaly a trial tournament, so hopefully with the next one all the rules would be made clear at the beginning so there's no confusion.

  • Registered Users Posts: 703 ✭✭✭obliviousgrudge

OK guys, it seems some of you aren't 100% on the rules.
If the match is level on aggregate after the two matches, away goals come into it, if the result still remains a tie, a third match will be played and will go as far as penalties to determine a winner.

So, for the Deportivo v Fernerbache game, Deportivo win, as they scored more away goals.

Sorry I wasn't clearer at the start, I forgot all about away goals.

    Ok fair enough.

If i can make a suggestion for the next tournament, I think you should not have away goals, and just if its a tie at the end of the 2 games, play a game that can go to penaltys if its tied on aggragete, or just have it so we can select go straight to penaltys/ E.T. + Penaltys at the end of the second game and skip the third game. I think thats a bit better.

This will prevent the whole "who was at home in this game" and "I was the away team in this game; No I was" and all that stuff if people get annoyed or very sore losers. I think its a bit fairer too since its a bit of fun and away goals are a bit annoying.

  • Registered Users Posts: 703 ✭✭✭obliviousgrudge

Yeah, I was planning to do that since it seems a bit more complicated than I anticipated.

I agree. I had been trying to figure whether it would be better for me to be home or away first. I thought away at first, but I'd prefer to play at home and try and limit the other team to one goal - then the game is in your hands.

Are you for real, it's a computer game, there's no real benefit either way

To be fair, it applies the exact same as in real life.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,057 ✭✭✭Krusader

It doesn't, its far easier to score in a computer game

Yeah, I know, I saved your first penalty and got a goal from the counter attack, I though I could nick a goal then as I was playing better for a while, then you got me on the break and scored, then I had a corner and my keeper was up for it, you broke and scored in an open net.

    PSV 2-3 Deportivo

Awful lag in this game, I was so close to just quitting when you were 1-0 up and just giving you the win to be honest. Decent game with Deportivo having the better of the chances, was annoyed with the free that was given against me and that none of my players would move before he took it, but well played.
