Who would be part of your dream band?? Try make a supergroup of no more than 5 dead or alive artists with whatever instruments you want.

    Mine would be:

Lead Singer: Roger Daltry (The Who)
    Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
    Guitar: Nick Valensi (The Strokes)
Bass Guitar: Sir Paul McCartney (The Beatles)
    Drums: Travis Barker (Blink 182)

    Hmm, this is tough:

    Piano and Vocals: Elton John
Drums: Max Weinberg (E Street Band)
Lead Guitar: Stevie Ray Vaughan (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble)
Rhythm Guitar: Rick Parfitt (Status Quo, although I dunno if his style would suit this band)
    Bass: Paul McCartney (The Beatles)

    Steven Drozd on drums/keyboards/vocals/strings
    Jonny Greenwood on guitar/keyboards/synthesisers/strings
    Richard D. James on laptops
    Aaron Funk on laptops
    Nels Cline on guitar
    Ronald Jones on guitar
    Greg Saunier on drums

Can't decide on a singer/frontman type... My immediate thoughts were Thom Yorke or Wayne Coyne, but then I might as well just have Radiohead or The Flaming Lips. Craig Finn of The Hold Steady? But I wouldn't like his kind of singing with those kinds of musicians at all...

Maybe Richard and Aaron could manipulate samples for vocals?

Seeing as it's limited to 5 people, mine would be:

    Vocals: Mike McColgan
    Bass: Johnny Rioux
    Guitar: Tobe Bean
    Guitar: Marcus Hollar
    Drums: Paul Rucker

I'd probably call them Street Dogs or something like that...

Singer: Layne Staley (goes without saying)
Lead Guitar: Slash (not a virtuoso but he looks seriously ****ing cool while
    doing it)
Rhythm Guitar: James Hetfield (has the ability to play lead guitar for those
harmonised riffs/solos and would make a mean backup singer)
Bass: Flea ( I likes me a bit of funk )
Drums: Travis Smith ( Walking metronome )

I think they would gel well together. James might be a bit pissed at being downgraded to backing singer, especially to Layne Staley. But if they got over their differences it would be excellent. Hetfield would be the songwriter as well.
