I want to go back to work, Rent Allowance question

I haven't worked in a few years and I am currently receiving Carer's Allowance. (My partner has medical problems and is receiving Invalidity Pension; I am a dependent on his claim and we both claim Rent Allowance)
My partner won't be able to work due to medical problems but my not working has been getting me down and I would love to return to the workplace.
I understand if I get a job, I will lose my dependency claim on my partner's Invalidity Pension (obviously) and will probably lose my Carer's Allowance, but this won't bother me.
What I do need to know is, what will happen with the Rent Allowance?
Will my half be stopped or will it stop completely for me AND my partner?

Rent allowance is means tested so if you go back to work and your wages exceed the limit then your RA will be cut or stopped and as you are a couple this will apply to your partner also
you will be assessed as a couple so both your incomes will be added together and assessed that way
