Specs wise either of those boards would suit you but I don't see the difference between NXR and escape even if both are sold by escape.

Maybe NXR ie epoxy rein instead of pollyester.

Epoxy would be stronger than polly but if it gets dinged the the foam tends to soak up water. Maybe send them a mail asking.

If it were me I'd go with the escape, polly isn't as strong but is easy to fix if you ding it.

Have surfed 5/6 times now and would like to stop renting and buy my own board. I'm 6ft and 13st 4lbs. I've had a gander online and come up with these two - not a huge selection seemingly in 8ft minimals.

I think there both made buy escape boards? but one is called nxr.

Any ideas which would be better or what the differences are?

I'll be mostly surfing in Donegal, Sligo and Clare.

    Any info appreciated , Cheers

There are good deals around on other 8ft mini-mals suited to Irish conditions. Check out a few local shops when you are next in the Donegal/Sligo/ Clare area..for example on the main road in the middle of that area, sunset ( www.sunset.ie ) has a new power source 8ft mini-mal on sale for only 299 euro and new take-off 8ft mini-mal for a bit more.
