Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

HDMI out - No Audio

    Folks -

Any help greatly appreciated - I have an Acer Aspire 3810TZ laptop. HDMI out to Plasma worked fine (video & Audio) up until a few days ago, now I can get video but no audio. Audio on laptop itself is fine, but when I go into HDMI and look at Audio properties, it constantly flashes for HDMI audio (unrecognising the audio output device and defaulting to Laptop speakers).

I have tried chenging the default audio to HDMI device but to no avail. Any ideas ?

Probably a silly suggestion but I'm guessing you have checked to make sure the physical connections are secure?
Try disable everything but HDMI? Disable and enable HDMI?

No silly suggestions mate - just silly people !!!!

I have double checked connections and changed cables. I have also updated drivers & disabled & reenabled HDMI.

Ok, no expert here but I had the same problem with a HDMI port on a ATI graphics card with windows 7.
Go to your sound properties for playback devices and set the HDMI as default.
That trick worked for me, I hope it does for you too.

You try it on a different TV?

Also have you recently done an automatic update? Or updated your graphics drivers??

I had the problem with latest Nvidia drivers and my Philips tv...

You could try a system restore to a few weeks back when all was okay on your laptop, a recent update could have messed you up

tried all whats suggested so far and to no avail I'm afraid.

Also - no major updates to the system in the last few days. This is really strange as it was working fine.

Have tried a new cable and also a different tv but same issue.

Anybody mess with your tv settings? I know on mine at least (Sony Bravia) it only accepts pc audio on one menu defined hdmi port. If that's not the problem your best bet is to try another laptop with the tv or try the laptop on another tv to figure out which one is causing the problem.
