Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just recently went to take photos off my digital camera when I put my memory card into the computer it said format now.

Obviously I didnt want to lose all my pictures so I didnt and stuck the memory card back into my camera. Which then pops up with format memory card/turn off camera option.

Im in limbo here, is there anyway of getting the pictures off the memory card or is it a lost cause.

There are plenty of software packages out there that should be able to help.. you'll probably lose some.

UFSExplorer is one that I've used, along with several others. I'd do a search on download.com, and check the ratings of a few products first if you're looking for a free software.

It is possible that a static discharge scrambled the controller chip in the card.. in which case it would be just dead. (You could probably try & get some stuff recovered professionally by people who'd dissect the hardware of the memory card and hook the memory chips up to a new controller etc.. but the expense for that would be ludicrous.)

The fact that your camera doesn't see it anymore is worrisome.

You may be able to recover them. Make sure you don't write
to the card as this will greatly reduce your chances of recovering
your pictures. If the card has a write-protect switch, move it
to the locked position so that you can't overwrite anything on
the card. Use a card reader and PC for the recovery attempt.
I have had good results with this software:
