Best for what? How high do you want it, what sort of situation. Do you want flowers or easy maintenance or evergreen or what?

No doubt that laylandii grows fastest, but you will not get any recommendations on here to grow that weed. And it does have problems of getting away from you if you take your eye off it - it can get to 30ft while you are on holiday. Well, maybe not quite that fast, but...

Privet would probably be the next I think. But you will have to wait a few seasons whatever you put in.

Just remember - the faster it grows the more maintenance it will require - so be prepared....

Privet grow really fast, Pyracantha grow fast as well, and in winter you will get berries on it. but everything is depend of the place you plant it, your soil quality and the weather
