Are you confusing Freeview with Freesat ? Had a friend that made this mistake a few months ago.

Freeview is only of use if you can receive the UK terrestrial signal, as opposed to Freesat which can be used to access the Freesat menu system that is helpful when watching the BBC/ITV channels from a satellite.

    Brian,

Many thanks for the post & apologies for the delay getting back to you.

The Sony KDL40EX503 is now £699.95/ €869.99 however we only stock it to order and we don't deliver it as it is an in-store only product.

Would you consider the Philips 40PFL5605 as a really excellent alternative - it's an LED as opposed to an LCD so the contrast ratio with the 5605 will be radically higher. It's also a 100Hz model and it includes MPEG4 for Irish Digital TV - If you would like to have alook at the specs here they are for your convenience http://philipsshop.ie/Spec%20Sheets/40pfl5605h_05_pss_eng.pdf

If you would like me to PM you a Boardie special price just drop me a line and I'll get the pencil sharpened ;)
