Noisy extractor fan - kaput?

We have an extractor fan in the en-suite bathroom - compared to an identical one in the kitchen, it now sounds like an aircraft taking off.

Does this mean the unit needs replacing, or are there any possible fixes that can be done to it?

    Cheers,

    P.

depends on the fan, if its a normal 4'' standard/timed fan its cheaper to replace it as they cost about 11.50 euro.
if its one of the larger fans like an xpellair or a vortice it might be repairable. post up a pic or some more details on the make and size and whether its timed or standard.
