I think it was kinda obvious

I think he outs himself now before someone else would and he needs some publicity with Jedward and Olly Murs taking over the limelight from last year's X Factor winner

Lol I actually didn't see that one coming...maybe because I didn't really think about it..I was surprised when I heard. I pity the chick he was in a long term relationship with just before the show!

Could he not be into men & women? He's been with this one for a while & if he was 'secretly gay' I doubt he'd be marrying her...he has nothing to gain by faking a marriage.

I still maintain that Simon really rigged it for Cheryl and Joe to win even the song The Climb was suited to him

Won't be the only thing Simon has or intends to rig.

According to various news sites, he's changing the way X-Factor operates in some areas.
He intends to release a number of songs from earlier rounds of the competition this year and have them slot into the charts in the run up to Christmas and just before.
This way he gets to flood the charts with his own songs, gain financially and equally squeeze out any challengers to the number 1 position, especially coming up to Christmas that then has to try and climb through all his company released show songs.

Its said he has learned this trick from watching how "Glee" has effected purchasing sales of songs and how quick teens are on impulse buying from what they see from week to week more so than ever before.
