Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When an out of towner suggests it may be fixed there's uproar.

When Cowzer suggested about the ref allowing brock extra time there was mild discontent.

Double standards against the boxing community....

No, I'm not but I feel fairly confident in saying that Couture is in far better shape than Toney and a much better fighter as well.

    Sense,

btw, me sating this could be fixed is not a dig at UFC, it is simply to point
out that when big hype and big money are on the cards, then there is a potential for this kind of thing. BOXING is renound for this, at least the hint of it anyway. Difficult to prove, but shenadigans goes on

i would love for toney to win, but realistically he's up against one of the smartest mma fighters there is.randy is very experienced and will not fall into playing james toneys game. couture knows his best chance of a win is take james down and g'n'p.
lets not forget couture was an alternate numerous times on the us olympic wrestling team. 6 months of training will not help james to prevent himself from being taken down.i expect this to happen within the first 90 seconds of the fight. when he is on the ground james will have very little chance of standing it back up.

walshb ive always respected your posts on the boxing forum but i really think you're fooling yourself here.

james has a chance, albeit a punchers chance.

Looks can be very deceiving. The guy has had many boxing fights whilst 230 and his stamina has been grand.

MMA Is a Complete Diff Kettle of fish when it Comes To Conditioning.
You use your arms in Boxing.
In MMA Theres Knees Elbows Punches Kicks takedowns, and believe me when you have someone 90+ KG's Lying on top of you working GnP And Submissions you tire out WAY Quicker than you would in Boxing.
MMA Has the Best Conditioned Athletes in any combat sport.

I know well I am in the minority, and do know that Couture is very good, I just have a sneaky feeling that Toney wins this. Am I overly confident? No, but I'd place money on him, albeit a small sum.

It's not beyond the realms of thought that the fight could be fixed due to profile. However due to my affection towards the UFC would say i can't see them fixing a fight.

However as i wrote on my blog ( CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP PLUG ) i do think Toney has very little regard for this fight and company and is using it as a stepping stone to get one big last interest in a boxing purse. As he can get alot more monetary gain as opposed to a UFC fight.

Again, who here knows what MMA conditioning Toney has done?

He is hardly just BOXING training now, is he?

Do you believe that Toney has NOT trained for wrestling and other facets of the game? You think his team are that inept?

Daniel, please please please please please please please do not try and argue the case of MMA considering you forgot the fight a boxing match can go up to 12 ROUNDS OF 5 MIN OF ACTION.

Yes but tbh most of them are tired after 5 rounds

Oh, just in case anyone calls my prediction a fluke, I think Toney wins with his fists, and early too.

Boxing at top level is 12 by 3, and No, most aren't tired after 5. And if they were, they dig
deep, suck it up and go on

    Stop.

Even after 5 rounds that's more than HALF a UFC fight extra.

    I'm done for the night.

Feel free to sing my praises via this thread should a natural
born fighter, Toney, kick Randy's ass.

Should Toney lose:o, I shan't be around these parts:)

On the radio i'd just like to say i did predict a toney win until i heard the comments that he wasn't training GNP because he wouldn't need it.

Well one BJJ trainer who corners MMA fighters and would probably be in know, came out and said he's heard Toney's not doing a tap of training.

Well, at least that is some source; better than the idle crap being spun
    about his conditioning.

BTW, who is this BJJ trainer?

No, but if people are going to make a prediction on a fight I'd expect them to have some knowledge of it, you seem to have none. That's why I asked the question.

Well, there is your problem. You "seem" too much, that could make you look really foolish sometime.

You want a breakdown? I gave it a few posts back.

Why would I give another one? It only takes one with most folks.

Anyway, gotta get some sleep, alarm set for fight? What time is Toney
expected in the ring, sorry, cage...?

this one doesn't have a spoiler warning. the other one does. that might make someone think the other one was a more handy place to put spoilers without having to put up spoiler tags non-stop.
