Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Garmin Edge 705 elevation gone nuts

Recently my Garmin Edge 705 elevation reading seems to have gone nuts. Basically, it seems to be way out. For example, at the bottom of a climb I do regularly the reading at the bottom is around 27m & the top is 280m. The last day I did it when my Garmin wents nuts it told me that the bottom of the climb was -112m & the top was 137m. When I upload the data to the Garmin website & enable the elevation correction it fixes it.

As my technical proficiency amounts to just about switching on the TV, does anyone know how to sort this out? Is there any way you can recalibrate the elevation on the device manually?

Thanks in advance if anyone knows.

You need to leave it for a period to calibrate after you turn it on, I think especially if air pressure has recently changed. Preferably not moving and not recording. It can take up to 15 minutes or more.

If this doesn't help the barometric altimeter may be broken, probably due to water ingress. Garmin will replace it under warranty if this is the problem.

Cheers Blorg, I was in the Alps a couple of weeks ago & its been playing up since then so that could be the reason....

I'll turn it on tomorrow & leave it & hopefully it sorts itself out.
