    You never know though.
Rape is one of the top fantasies for women apparently. It's very common.
Didn't Ted Bundy have a huge following of young women during his trial.
    Such is life, much.

    WTF???

    Are you serious??

I'd find a lot of sandbags and take cover if i was you lad!!

Well technically he is correct about the fantasy (fantasy being the key word) and women writing to Ted Bundy, but using Larry Murphy as a dating profile username is about as far away from that fantasy as possible.
Why do the themes of dominance and submission keep recurring?
Women are often aroused by women being submissive. It's more complicated for women because of the separation between physical and psychological arousal. Women have very mixed feelings when [it comes to sexual submission]. But rape fantasies are extremely prevalent.

Obviously, that doesn't mean that women want to be raped, but doesn't the prevalence of forced sex in porn make men think that they do?
It's not teaching men to be misogynistic; it doesn't spill over into social life. It's really no different from looking at large breasts. But women react to these psychological elements and understandably and accurately see them as a kind of misogyny.

However, we're talking sex and arousal, not social politics. A rape fantasy doesn't mean a woman really wants to be raped — it's just something that turns [her] on [in the bedroom]

Anyway, moving away from the technicalities, the Larry Murphy profile is somebody who either has a very dark sense of humour or who is trolling/making fun of a friend.

This post disgusts and appalls me!

How dare you suggest that! I dont care what you are basing your disgusting theory on but try telling that to anyone who has been raped and see what reaction you get.

Posters have been banned for less.

so my repeat mailler got a reply. i said "Thanks for the messages, but i'm not interested." don't suppose it's the nicest way of putting it, but hopefully he doesn't go psycho on me over it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,235 ✭✭✭Odaise Gaelach

At least you're honest about it. That's definitely for the best.

Plus if he does go psycho you can block him. Ah, the joys of online dating. :D

Haven't asked said girl on date yet because she's sick at the moment. Was kinda tempted to imply some sort of thermometer/dick joke but I resisted the urge. :pac:

Nah that's about right; tbh I'd prefer that myself over no reply at all, but yes can understand why people would be reluctant to reply like that, given the inevitable crazies that don't take it so well :)

Nope. I was on the verge. I asked her what she was doing this weekend to see if she had anything planned and then I was gonna ask her.

Might just go ahead and ask her for next weekend. Fúck it. Life's too short and all that.

Well, if worse comes to worst we can settle our differences like adults.
