Either fun, or REALLY awkward for the guy who doesn't hit it off with one of the girls!!

Well I'm not dating but back on the online dating wagon.

Or does that make no sense whatsoever??? probably doesn't.

The urge for procrastination came back last weekend (I needed to study) so of course I decided to mail people instead! :o

Ah, is it not a question that most people will ask when first meeting someone? Like to make conversation?

I'm definately not a keep up with the Jones' type person. How much I earn question would be a put off for me, most people who know me don't even know where I live and when people ask, I just say I'm from the city. I really don't like being judged on anything other than my personality and looks.

Well I usually ask "So what do you do with yourself?" which means the reply can be about work/pastimes/the current time. I honestly couldn't give a monkeys what someone did for a living (unless you're a doc - wouldn't fit with my lifestyle) once you're not sitting on your hole and have ambition. But I think it sometimes can be hard to come up with conversation ideas. And sometimes it can lead into asking that question. I guess it depends on how its asked and when it's asked. Have to find the balance.

The Job Question wouldn't be a biggie as far as I'm concerned.

Salary, you can wait until we know each other better to worry about that sort of thing.

So would the fact that someone is unemployed act as a turnoff?

No, only if it's by choice.

    Oh right, that makes sense

There's a huge difference between asking what you do/work as out of general curiosity/striking up conversation and snooping out how much money someone makes IMO.

    It makes perfect sense.

You can be unemployed because you're a lazy waster.

Or you can be unemployed simply because you just can't find a job.

    There be a difference.

All the same though, to some women there is no difference. These are women to be avoided.

I don't think I'd ever ask someone about how much they make unless we were going out for a very long time. I wouldn't even ask my friends what they earn!
