Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The thread should be marked as NSFV - Not Suitable For Viewing. :D

I see you omitted your own photo.

    Those fisheye lenses are mad.

Thanks thefly - I love your aggressive manner.

It was aimed at a bit of humor, if you don't get it then why not just ignore it?

I suppose it might have gone to the random thread but I thought it might just stimulate a discussion on fish eye lenses.

Always thought I wanted a fish eye, and maybe I do, but not for portraits, jesus they are not flattering at all.

I hope I haven't put my foot in it and that's just what they look like :o.

That one was linear, you can also get circular.

I haven't seen much portrait stuff with them, but it was interesting taking those shots. The focusing distance is VERY short.

Very short!! Definitely a case of in your face :D

I hope that is adequately clear.

Funnily I couldn't spot any photographers on the TV last night. Were you just before the advertising hoardings, or behind something behind that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,197 ✭✭✭kensutz

We were mostly in the North West and South West corners. Then a few scattered in the other corners.

Not sure what way to go next Wednesday.

Parking around the area is a bit of a nightmare. No specific parking available. So, it's on street, pay parking, when you can find it.

What length is that fisheye, 8mm? It seems really pronounced?

I've been coveting the 10.5mm for a loooong time now. Every time I think about taking the plunge, something that I could actually spend the money better on crops up...

    ...like a bill.

Its a sigma 10mm for a 1.6 cropped sensor, but used on a 1.3 cropped sensor.
You lose a little on the outside that you have to crop off.
