New challenge maps to be released today/tomorrow. Batcave predator map looks very interesting but I have more than enough with the original challenge maps to get that pesky platinum.

We are getting a free new Batman Inc. skin today!

Oh wow, i think that free skin looks better than any of the charged DLC ones, LOL. That's perfect. I wasn't in the humour of paying a fiver just to get rid of my tattered old standard batsuit. I've been running around AC looking like a tinker for weeks now :D

Also, they rocksteady provided a cheat to use your different batsuits at any time even if you haven't cleared the game yet

This is EXCELLENT. I love old school push button cheats, and you don't see a lot of them these days. Fair play.

It DOES look interesting, but TBH i'm not really loving the stealth challenges in this game as much as i did in AA, as per my previous rant. I still have my hands full with trying to get my last 2 or 3 trophies on the extreme stealth maps. That top of the world extreme one is a f**ing b**t*rd to get all 3 trophies on.

I mean the gargoyles are on the OUTSIDE? Come on rocksteady!

more Challenge maps? Glad I got rid of this a few weeks back. Couldn't even bring myself to complete the Catwoman predator maps.

I'm disappointed they haven't brought out some decent mission/storyline orientated DLC for this.

Does anybody know if they are even working on that kind of thing?

I couldn't care less for more challenge maps.

Just got it from steam too. Is the download 16GB? It will take forever on my crappy DSL line.

The absolute KEY here is the electro gun. IIRC one of the trophies is to shoot an armed guard into another with it.

Go to the two sets of gargoyles that are next to the stairs. There are one or two henchmen whos route takes them outside. Shoot one with the EG and immediately grapple to the other gargoyle, but don't move from there. What will happen is that he'll get up and aim his gun to where the shot came from, the gargoyle that you've left.

Now, at this point I'm not sure if other henchmen will come to his aid, but if they don't, shoot him again and grapple back to where you were originally. He'll get up and aim again at where the shot came from. Repeat this task until you've got enough henchmen around the place to get the "Freeze three henchmen" trophy. Freeze them and then aim for the armoured one and keep shooting him until he hits another of the lads. That's two trophies sorted. Once you get the second one, grapple out of that area altogether.

Now it's just a matter of taking them down one at a time. It's a pain because of the disruptor but once you take that particular henchman down you're sorted.

When you're down to one henchman, sneak up behind him and batclaw the weapon from him. Stun him then beatdown. There you go.

I'm not saying any of this is easy - it was the last challenge I had to complete and is a proper pain in the hole !

By the way - anyone play the DLC train challenge? It's a streets-of-rage type slant on the game. Very good but too short. I think it comes with the extra batman skins download.

Comes with the Robin DLC. It's good but I'd difficult to see what's going on.

I have lost 2 game saves for Arkham city and I can't bring myself to start the game from the beginning again.

Does anyone have any xbox save files that they can share?

Sorry, I don't, but doesn't the latest Xbox 360 firmware have cloud backup for your game saves? Might be worth upgrading before you sink any more time into Arkham city.

I had one save game loss, although it was right at the beginning, haven't had one since (PC).

I was given this game for Christmas ...it seems deadly so far and oh my God I love Catwoman!!!!!

Catwoman is very limited when compared to Batman. Her whip doesn't have the distance the grappling hook does. She doesn't have the capabilities to deal with armed henchmen sufficiently, all you can really do is do a silent takedown. Sure you can do the equivalent of the batclaw disarm, but that only attracts attention.

She is definitely an addition to the game though. The challenges with her are more difficult because of her limitations - you have to be far more careful. Batman's heavier armour means you can be more careless.

Glad you're enjoying it. Try Batman: arkham asylum after youre done with this-its at least as good, many In this thread feel its marginally better, myself included, although I could see how you might miss a few things from this game if you had played it first. Grappling and gliding is much better in this than in AA.

Re catwoman, i didnt enjoy her sections at all. I'd advise anyone who gets the game NOT to install the catwoman DLC. I think she's dreadful to use, especially against any more than 1 or 2 armed henchmen, and her campaign sections break up the main plot of the game and make it feel even more disjointed than the core story already is.

I know she is in no way as good as Batman ....and I am not one of this "girl power" women ...but I was kinda like yaaayyy girl power (I know the shame)! I dont mind her moves so much I just hate that when she is moving from one building to another she only makes it half way up and then you have to do this awkward hop to reach the top..its cool at first but then you are like MOVE!!!!

I played Batman: Arkham Asylum and really enjoyed it I thought the ending was amazing!!! Was kinda sad you didnt get a whole lot of Bane though (hopefully there will be more in this one) ....I didnt read-up on it beforehand so was really surprised when Poison Ivy came out she is AMAZING in them!!!

Just finished playing it and really liked it. Agree 100% about the horseshoe shaped map it was really annoying, also didn't like the way the on screen map at the top only showed one thing at a time, I don't think it would have been too difficult to show the 2 or 3 side missions and the main focus at once. I was also a little disappointed in the Joker fights -
I would have like him to be tougher/quicker/different than the normal goons but he seemed to fight/move/take a beating like the normal goons.
I thought Catwoman was a fine distraction from the main game as her missions were short and simple, I thought the multiple enemies and side missions were good too and broke up the story nicely.
As for the story I thought it was good, it will be interesting to see what happens next Massive
to see if they leave the Joker dead, I assume Ra's and Talia will make it to a Lazuras pit

    Loving the game.

Trying to get all the Titan vats now with Bane.
The last one under the steal mill is proving to be a bitch.
Prob going in the wrong way.

As others have said, not that hard of a game.

But def loads of fun :)

Got the game on Christmas Day completed the story it at 4am on the 29th. I really did love it. The hoping back and forth between villians was a bit ridiculous and lazy by the writers, i was hoping for more colaboration between these enemies to takedown the Bat. Plus would have loved to have seen the gang wars in action or a full back story into the creation of the prision.
Walking out of the subway to find Penguins dead goons piled in a heap was quite cool. I found penguins maps of the gang terroritry mark out by him and two face and joke could have been expanded into a mission

Saying that, flying around the city listen to the goons, saving the prisoners. I really enjoy the Deadshot side mission.
I think that the Joker had to die, a third installment with him in it would be too drawn out.
The freeze gadgets are great fun. Talia's a babe! Some great cameos. The opening moment where Bruce is escorted into the front of the prision shows the mayhem the city is in.The sniper goons incourage sneaky takedowns and the boss battles are more interesting with no repetitive titan goons everywhere.

Only got the Identity theft mission left and not sure where to go with it, followed the blood trail to a witness and thats about it?

Go into the Mill through the back door. It's just in the 1st room then on your left against the wall. Took me ages to find that as well.

There is a 5 episode comic series giving you the backstory to the prison and the gangs. Was released before the game, I would def recommend looking it up.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_Arkham_City_(comic_book)

The Idenity theft mission ends when you come face to face ;) with the killer so you have a bit more to do. Sometimes the side quests take some time to continue so if you keep wondering around, the next part should open at some point.

Started this last night.. and not finding it quite as addictive as 'Arkham Asylum' for some reason. Same happened me with Crackdown 2.

Maybe I build up sequels too much in my head that they rarely live up to my expectations.. except Portal 2 that is.

I agree completely. I got arkham asylum online for €8, purely on the strength of the free demo I played months before, expecting it to kill a couple of evenings at best, and couldn't put it down for weeks on end. I was like "holy sh1t, this game is amazing", so I was really excited for the sequel, which, although a really great game in its own right, never hit those same "holy sh1t" moments for me.

Thats happened to me so many times though, being underwhelmed by a follow-up I was really looking forward to. I guess it's the curse of the sequel. Second games that really outdo a smash-hit predecessor are few and far between.

I don't know why that is, Arkham city is clearly a great game, but it just doesn't have the same wow factor asylum had. I might play it more once I'm sick of Dirt 3.

I think Arkham City was just a case of throwing too much into the game and hoping it'd all stick. If there had been fewer baddies but more interaction with them, some bigger indoor/underground areas and tougher enemies throughout rather than just the brief Hammer & Sickle twins parts, it would have been better.

There's one Riddler trophy that proved fuppin' difficult to get, the one where you use 3 explosives on 3 question marks on the top row and have to run and hit the bottom 3 with batarangs along the bottom row...
In Industrial area over near the big wall.

I gave up on it and completed the Deus Ex: HR achievements instead. :p

Was there Robin DLC on the PC too by the way, or only Catwoman?

Not sure if I'm thinking of the right one, but
I think you use the gel on the bottom row and hit the top ones with batarangs from the opposite roof
