i set a new lawn about 3 months ago and would like to give it a little colour boost as its going a little yellow. What type of feed would you suggest as the lawn is 3000 sq metres about 3/4 of an acre so it would need to be cost effective as well

I'd use a general fertilizer, 10-10-20 is good for a lawn at this time of year.. Don't worry about the colour in the first year, strengthen and thicken it up to ensure it crowdes out any weeds and is strong enough to get through the winter without any bother..

go for the liquid lawnfeed, i saw one in hardware shop says greens lawns in three days, i put on on my lawn 3 weeks ago it is really green and thick right now, liquid feed gets right through the plant, also cut lawn on a bit high to thicken and keep it from drying out if you get a dry spell

i presume the liquid lawn feed is only for a smaller lawn as it would be too slow expensive for a lawn of 3 quarters of an acre.how much of the 10 10 20 shouldi use ? is there any specialist lawn fertilizer from a garden centre that would be economical enough to use

50kg bag should be fine, should cost less than €20..

I'd say the chances of it drying out at the moment are slim if the lawn is anywhere on this fair Isle :P
