Vat on new cars

    Hi

    Can someone please advise. Do you have to pay VAT on a car that is 6mths & 2wks old or does the car really have to be 7mths old before it is excempt.

    I understand that if a car is 6mths or less it is subject to vat & also if the car is over 6mths & has less than 6000km is also subject to vat. please can anyone advise
