I'm organising a Dublin weekend conference for UK and Irish delegates next May. I'm looking for ideas for somewhere to take a party of around 50-60 (mostly but not all Brits) on the Saturday evening - the ideal would be a tour of something historic then a sit down meal. Ages 30-65, about equal numbers of men and women.

Other than the Guinness Storehouse, any suggestions please?

Here are a couple of Dublin Walking Tours websites

That last one, Pat Liddy, is supposed to be very good.

I have no idea where you'd get a sit down meal for 50-60 people though, I can recommend a few restaurants that have decent food

Fire Restaurant - excellent food, but a tad expensive. One of my best friends is one of the top chefs in there. It's beside the Mansion House.

Luigi Malones - Again, good food and very affordable, good atmosphere in here. It's in Temple Bar, so close to "touristy" pubs like The Quays and Gogarty's and The Temple Bar.

The Arlington on Dame Street could be a runner, they seat over 100 for the Irish dinner music and dancing show. MerryploughBoy and taylorsthreerock do similar but would involve a coach trip. Maybe you could combine one of those 2 with a trip to glendalough or something like that? Depends on your budget really and how much time they have on the Saturday.

There is a banqueting service in Trinity College. A walking tour of the college and then a meal in the historic dining hall could be a runner.
