Andrew Carroll who is working for the Kilmainham arts festival, asked me to pass the word. This event is on the 4th of September.

The theme and title of the event will be "Knights of Mecha". This is a completely free event - all that participants have to do is build and wear on the day a cosplay of their favourite Mecha or Armor (Armour) Animé character. The event will be held in the suitably-cloistered surrounds of the main courtyard of the IMMA (Irish Museum of Modern Art).

The event will take place from 11:00am until 2:00pm, after which the cosplayers will have the opportunity to enjoy the rest of the Arts Festival, which is only running for that day. There will be a prize for the best cosplay on the day. More information on 'Knights of Mecha' can be found on http://mechaknights.blogspot.com , and information on the Arts Festival is on www.kilmainhamartsclub.wordpress.com.

I would be interested in seeing this event.

I've never tried a mecha cosplay before, this is a perfect excuse!

Quote my post to see how to do it. You don't use the full URL.

I end up not going as I had to work. How was it?

My chest infection returned with a vengeance (overworked myself during Nom) so I got halfway out the door before I had to give in and go back to bed. I'm gutted I missed it. But if they have it again next year, leprosy won't keep me away! And I'll have time to cosplay!
