Where did you get this bet?

Bet365 under the "First Goal and Result" market. I'm quite fond of the "No Goal" bet in hurling and reckon it'll be tight tomorrow, so why not!

Not GAA but holland to qualify from group B could be a bit of value at 6/1.i think germany should beat denmark and holland should beat portugal.thoughts anyone?

They have to win by 2 as far as I'm aware though. 6/1 seems about right for a Holland -1 double and Germany to win.

In fact, a Holland -1 and Germany win double works out at over 7/1.

On the Canning express too - I also picked out Kildare over 1.5 @ 5/4, they have achieve that in 4 of their 5 last games and the one they failed to achieve it in was against Tyrone.
Offaly under 11.5 points @ 4/5 PP - They averaged 11 in a league below Kildare against weaker opposition plus that exactly what Tyrone scored against them and Offally are no Tyrone
Offaly to score no goal @ 5/6 Lads - just a punt really, Kildare may be just too strong for them at the back espically with offaly starting with 4 newcomers - Handicap is a bit large @ -9 but gonna take a small bit of -8 @ 4/5 with paddys

Agree that I don't see Offaly scoring goal but I expect Kildare to get a goal so I went for Teams To Score Goal: Kildare Only @ 11/8

Think Canning was about the only player not to get a goal in that game, serious goalfest.

3/5 - ill take that - how Kildare did not score at least one is a miracle, denied a stonewall peno too and for Caning not to score one of Galways 5!!!! now id like odds on that (he did not look match fit tbh and looked like he was a half pace)

KK v Dublin at Portlaoise. I think that Dublin could give KK a right old rattle here, KK are a bit more vunerable outside of the wide open spaces of Croker, also Dublin's physicality is up there with KK and they have finally gotten a goalscoring threat. Just how serious Cody is taking them is shown by him recalling King Henry. Dublin are +6 on the handicap (5/6) and I'll be taking this, also like +3 in the alternative handicap (7/4). Even think the 4/1 price on the win is on the big side, so worth a small bet for that

Cork v Tipp. This is on in Cork, which is a good advantage for Cork, however Tipp have a game behind them and that will have helped them a lot. They have a lot of strength in depth also, I'd fancy them to take it in the end, pulling away in the second part of the second half. They are -1 in the handicap (10/11) and will be snapping this up, also a bit on -3 (6/4) in the alt handicap

Of the other 2 games, its very hard to see any upsets, but Westmeath could get closer to Wexford than the handicap suggests. So Westmeath +9 (5/6) and perhaps +6 (9/5) on the alt handicap. Limerick and Laois is a no bet. Limerick can be notoriosly unreliable in the qualifiers, and wouldnt be too confident of them in a 14 points spread even against a Laois team in bits at senior (although showing some shoots of recovery at u-21).

The bad weather expected this weekend could narrow the scoring in any of the games above also, worth bearing in mind if backing the fav on a big handicap.

Finally, a note to point out how crazy it is and unfair that Westmeath and Laois play in the preliminary round of the qualifiers while the teams they beat in Leinster (Antrim and Carlow) get a bye to round 1. Nuts.

Mayo +11 is a big enough handicap, they should win handy though

Gonna stay away from the Killkenny / Dublin game today - i want to enjoy it but for me i'm concentrating on the other two hurling games and i'm going for goals in these games
Limerick v Laois - Limerick will hammer Laois but gonna wait till closer throw in to bet on the Handicap (-14 @ 11/10 PP) cos if the weathers bad it will come down, regardless i'm doing Limerick over 2.5 goals @ 6/5 and the game over 3.5 @ evens both with PP (only prices available atm) but ill be checking elsewhere - Also S Tobin anytime and Limerick to win @ 8/5
Wexford v Westmeath - This game really depends on which Westmeah team turns up so i'm staying away from the handicap. Westmeath are no strangers to scoring goals (just ask Galway) so over 3.5 game goals @ 6/5 and R Jacob anytime goal @ 17/10 looks great value for a proven scorer
Looking a bit futher at the Killkenny / Dublin game i like Kilkenny to score over 1.5 goals @ 8/11 so ill probably put it in an accum with the other goals totals from above (lim over 2.5, wex game over 3.5)
Any feedback would be great as it's a kinda hard weekend to predict:eek:

Sure I had all the winners at Ascot today in an accum, easy game this eh?:D

I do like the Limerick goals bet mind, will have some of that myself.

Urrrgh, way off on my own thoughts in the Dublin match, very disappointing and surprising performance from Dublin.

Yea, wish all bets were that easy :D, I took Limerick (-14) @ 11/10 in PP earlier its in to (-15) @ even now so hopefully thats a good sign

Regarding the Wexfod / Westmeath game the conditions may suit Wesmeaths style of play cos the lump high balls to the edge of the square and are strong down the middle so i'm gonna take Westmeath over 0.5 goals @ 13/8 - great value imo, goals can come at any time in hurling and they did score 4 against Galway (only thing thats stopping me going large is that the game is at Wexford park)

SORRY, Sorry, Sorry -" Westmeath over 0.5 goals @ 13/8" read it wrong that for over 1.5 goals - thats a no bet for me

2 goals at the start of the second half for Wexford and they are thumping Westmeath. 3-14 to 0-5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Westmeath get the 2 required goals anyway. 3-17 to 2-7 in that one, 2-16 to 0-8 in the Lim game

I'm no expert on the GAA so any feedback here would be great. Two bets I'v been considering, how would any of you GAA fans consider my chances on the following?

    Cork v Tipp - Tipp over 1.5 goals 8/11

Cork v Tipp - 49 points or more EVS

6-5 Mayo only with PP in the To Score a Goal Market is the best bet I can find so far for today.

You would have to think there is a great chance that Mayo will get at least 1 goal and keep a clean sheet. As stake cover you can back both teams to score at least 1goal apiece at 9-5.

Using half your stake on Mayo only you cover yourself. Highly doubtful that there will be no goals or that only Leitrim will score them.

stanjames have wicklow up at 3/1 to beat waterford next weekend. now this is obviously a mistake and the odds are really supposed to be 1/3 in accordance with the prices of other bookies. however i was wondering would they be entitled to pay out at the higher odds should they be backed at 3/1 and the bet comes in

No. It's a palpable error, they won't pay out, nor should they. Don't make this bet as it will put your account on the fast track to getting closed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,338 ✭✭✭yesno1234

You'll be paid out but at the correct odds, so instead of say putting on 300 and getting 1200 back you'll just get 400 back.

Can't remember having had a palp with SJ before, but at least some of the books will void a bet if they spot the error far enough in advance.

Winner alright. It's an interesting market I hadn't seen before and will look out for in the future particularly for both teams to score a goal.

Just looking at the likely All Ireland winners and I see Donegal are at 10's generally (14's with William Hill but ive no account there), now first things first they were @ 12's before the weekend therefore there must be some money going on them but at 10's i think there well worth a small punt. I was very impressed in how they dismantled Derry, plus with what i read about their tactice and training methods and i fully expect them to beat Tyrone there for the price will drop - as previously posted here i'm already on Cork @ 11/2 but after what i read and saw i would put Donegal ahead of them

  • Registered Users Posts: 241 ✭✭sboyle01

Like the look of M Murphy under 4.5 pts 8/11. He'll line out at full forward but drop deep towards the midfield. He will get a few frees but unlikely to get much joy from open play. Also P McBrearty is 5/6 for over 1.5 pts which is tempting. He's one of the up and coming star in GAA and should be one of the furtherest forward of the donegal players.

anyone heard that louth had to cancel a training session because only 4 players turned up?? I read it here http://gamblerfalls.com/gaa-weekend-preview-30th-of-june/ seemed keen on louth price before finding out. clearly the bookmakers know something.

What i do konw is that Half the Louth panel are abroad having left in the aftermath of the Dublin game incl all thier midfielders that were on the panel (either gone of injured) and Westmeaths main attacker John Hessin has declared fit after key hole surgery (how fit i dont know) they will also be missing Capt Gary Connaughton (Boston)but ill def be having a piece of Westmeath @ 10/11 (-2) with Bet 365 remember it was a list minute goal that earned Louth a victory the last time they met earlier this season - could be a dodgy game though with two teams not really wanting to be there:confused:

Oh and yes louth did have to cancel a training session due to Emigration and injuries

He did not play at all this season with the county - just with his club, i think hes gone abroad too

In the early game today London v Antrim, you have 3rd division Antrim who have average over a goal a game against 4th division London who were beaten by Leitrim who were hammered by Mayo therefore it Antrim for me to score over 1.5 goals @ 12/5 ladbrooks and a bit on the game over 1.5 goals @ 10/11 with paddys

    Double of Antrim (-4) @ 11/10 and Wicklow (-2) @ 1/2

May do another bet in play on the handicap in the London game as they usually start well

Tipperary and over 1.5 goals in dub/wexford @ around 6/5.
