Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thanks, Phil.

Your pic--->Share this --> Grab the HTML --> copy and past the <a href="http:/.... code to this website http://www.rhmfiles.com/BBCode.html

Convert and copy and past the [img.... code to boards

Can you not right click on the image and click open picture in new tab/window and just copy the url from the new page?

    that should work

I used to have a nifty greasemonkey script that did the conversion on the fly and gave you a BBCode version as well as the HTML version you normally get. New layout has broken a lot of them, but I'm sure the script authors are probably updating as we speak.

found a new BB code - flickr script for users of greasemonkey

    link

Tested it and it works perfectly with the new flickr photo page.

Edit: I'm not sure how to get the smaller sizes

Phil, You can also do it by grabbing the html code and use the following part of the html code from the flickr photo

    EG
    Full code -
    <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/stmaurs/4847381608/&quot; title="IMG_9294 by stmaursgaa, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4148/4847381608_73a891fd40.jpg&quot; width="500" height="333" alt="IMG_9294" /></a>

    Use the part of the code as follows;
    http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4148/4847381608_73a891fd40.jpg

This is unique from each photo and the code you would have got in the old flickr setup.

    When pasted into the image link it looks like this;

    4847381608_73a891fd40.jpg

The annoying part is having to link back to the flickr photo page

Flickr are working on making the BB code available but won't say when.

Hi Phinglas Phil, don't know anything about codes sounds all gibberish to me :D

I simply have 2 windows open and copy and paste, and it works, even with the new version, provided I'm in the View all sizes page.
I had problems changing the size in Edit after I had the original post done and dusted, with my system, but now have figured out that the little extension at the end of address does the trick >>> medium sized pics are labelled "z" as in addressaddressaddress/sizes/z/in/photostream/ , to change size, insert "l" for large instead, etc...

    Yeah

Flickr now offers the BB code direct from the "Share This" ---> "Grab The HTML" options

I could be doing something stupid but when I click "share this" nothing happens.. I am using a Mac, has anyone else found this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,700 ✭✭✭Mountainsandh

okmqaz42 I was using a Mac the last 2 days, and was able to do the code thing from Share This. I got the menu just like you should (was expecting it to be less straightforward actually), try refreshing page

Thanks Mountainsandh, it does not seam to work with firefox, I have just tried it with safari and works perfect!!!.

Does anyone else find the new Flickr layout annoying? I like that photos are bigger, but with the title of each pic moved from top to bottom, and the options all in 2 drop down options everything else looks sparse.

Then it lists every person who favs a photo, and doesn't show contact pictures on the comments. Part of the fun reading comments is noticing the same people over flickr by their image. I prefer the old way and only prefer the bigger pic resolution.

I really like the fact that Flickr now has the BB code as an option. Makes life so much easier.
I quite like the bigger picture size, too - the rest of the layout is still confusing, somewhat :p

    This is fantastic:

Be sure to tick the "link to flickr []" thing.

Same here. Like the bigger pic, not any of the other features. "Kindalike" the geotagging/map showing on the right allright.

Sorry for rehashing on old thread but how does this work? I can't seem to post an image from flickr in a post.

The above instruction works perfect, but is there a way to remove the link to your flicker page that appears under your photo?

Yes - just grab the 1st URL tag pair, with the IMG in it, and don't use the 2nd and 3rd URL pairs.
