Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hope Wilshere won't be damaged by all this. Could see him being slated for not single handedly winning England matches despite his age.

Foster has now pulled out, no question about who will be starting in goals now ;)

England playing 4-3-3 it seems with

    Hart
    Johnson-Terry-Jags-Cole
    Gerrard--Lampard--Barry;
    Walcott-Rooney-A Johnson

Finally a formation that makes sense. Well done capello, 6mill well earned.
I wonder will rooney actually bother his hole to even run around.

I can see them going with a 4-4-1-1 with Gerrard playing off Rooney, Walcott and AJ on the wings.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

ITV have it as 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard behind Rooney.

    Lampard holding?
    I think not

No Parker in the squad prob means hes not in contention for any upcoming squads. What a joke, twice the player Barry will ever be!

Barry will be the more defensive minded midfielder with that role. Lampard will be a bit more free...

Just switched to the england game and Martin Tyler on setanta wow wasnt expecting that

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Not bad, lacking a bit of drive at times, Rooney looking a bit grumpy. Gerrard is lively, Barry mediocre.

Clive Tildesley doing my head in.

Yeah, he commentated on Setanta for the england vs mexico pre-world cup warm-up game and i thought it was quite strange... He still commentates on Sky as well. He must have gone freelance or something..

Ya sure if Gerrard had been playing in his favourite position they would have won the WC - that Capello was never a good manager.......

Would'nt label a whole nation "sad" but yes the vast majority of their pundits make me sick. You just know they will cruise through the Euro's qualifers and then flop big style in the finals itself.

    Pundits are for loosers

Gerrard was Captain England tonight. Rooney was in need of burping, Barry was waorse than meh.

nope . I am not going to go through it again. The match was on tv and those were the general comments. Fans gave them a big cheer off at the end. Lads ye just about won against a terrible team in a friendly.

    General comments...... I see.

Oh, and the fans cheered at the end...... indeed.

Clearly that means they think England are the best team in the world now.

You know they way they go on. Just like they did before the world cup. They beat Croatia and suddenly they had the right to win it

watching 'you're on sky sports', they're laughing and joking about how its a farce that they're ranked 7th in the world and shouldn't be in the top ten. Ze brits are not as stupid as you seem to think.

Glad to see Capello having the goolies to tell Beckham that his England career is over.

That guy got about 20 caps too many just because of his media profile.

Glad to see Capello having the goolies to tell Beckham that his England career is over.

That guy got about 20 caps too many just because of his media profile.

Capello didn't even have the decency to tell him that he wasn't going to consider him for selection again, instead informing him through the media. It fits in with his cowardly nature of getting his assistant to ring up the players telling them they didn't make the World Cup squad instead of Capello himself meeting them face-to-face to tell them.

Beckham has been wrote off time and time again but has come back every single time and he'll do so again, sticking it to his critics and doubters once again.

Stick your Lampard's, Gerrard's, Rooney's up your arse, Beckham has been, without a doubt, the best English player for the last decade and he still has a part to play.

Personally, I can't wait for Capello to get absolutely destroyed in the media over the next few weeks as that's exactly what will happen.

Could he not have rang Beckham and said, ''Sorry David, but I'm going to give the younger players a chance to step-up'', or in Capello's case, get his assistant to ring him up (as he usually does) rather than letting him find out through the media?

Beckham will still be involved with England (whether that be in a playing or coaching capacity) long after Capello has ****ed off after failing at Euro 2012 anyway, and that's a fact.
