Tracking and balancing

Hi,

I got a puncture on my front wheel during the week and have changed the tyre. The car is dragging and vibrating really bad since and I have been told I have to get the balancing and tracking done.

Can anyone give me a rough idea how much I'd be expecting to pay for this? Is it just the two front wheels I'll need to get tracked and balanced?

Generally its about 50 quid for a tracking and balancing. Some cars will allow for to be adjusted on the front and rear wheels with an independent suspension on the rear. What car do you drive? Alot will depend on the place you get it done too and their equipment, should be no price difference though.

Fair enough. What year is it? Im not 100% sure about the micra and maybe another boardsie can confirm if its suitable for a four wheel alignment. I presume the puncture happened on one of the front wheels? Is the car pulling to the left and steering wheel vibrating above 100km/h?

It's 2002. Yeah happened on the front left. Car is pulling left and vibrating at low speeds also.

If the steering is vibrating at low speeds as well you could have a worn suspension part. Is this happening below 60km/hr? Did you hit a bad pothole to get the puncture?

If you didn't hit any potholes that caused the puncture, and that it happened on a flat piece of road from a nail or something then just get them to balance the wheel with the new tyre.

They should have balanced it when they put the new tire on anyways.

Tracking for a micra should only cost 25 euro.
