Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Spins out of Kinsale and Bantry

I will be in Cork next week (bringing bike on the train from Heuston), staying in Kinsale for 5 days followed by 5 days in Bantry. I am looking for recommendations on spins out of each town, anything between 50km-150km and don’t mind if coastal, mountain, flat or hilly. I have a reasonable fitness level (i.e. completed Mick Byrne 200 and Wicklow 200 this year). Also, if anyone in the area was free to meet up I would welcome the company.

    All suggestions gratefully appreciated.

    Some suggestions.
    1. Bantry Ballylickey Kealkill Pass of Keiminagh Ballingeary Derrylahan Top of Coom Morleys Bridge Kenmare Glengariff Bantry
107km. Three Climbs (Pass of Keiminagh, Mouth of the Glen after Ballingeary, Caha Pass after Kenmare). This is my favourite route.

    2. Bantry Glengariff Adrigole Healy Pass Kenmare Caha Pass Glengariff Bantry.
    113km.

3Bantry Ballylickey Coomhola Borlin Valley Kilgarvan and home via Top of Coom/Ballingeary or Kenmare Bonane Priests Leap.

    Enjoy

Thanks ROK ON, will try some of those.

Seeing as you're named in its honour, would the Ring Of Kerry be a bit too ambitious to attempt starting from Bantry?

Anyone got any suggestions for routes from Kinsale?

    Kinsale - (Garrettstown) - Ballinspittle - Courtmacsherry - Clon - Bandon - Inishannon - Dunderrow - Kinsale would be a nice spin.

Loads of routes. Here are a couple of suggestions:

    1. (second half is coastal road) Kinsale-FiveMileBridge-Ballinhassig-Bandon-Clonakilty-Timoleague-Ballinspittle-Garretstown - Old Head-Kinsale

Other would be Kinsale-Oysterhaven-Novohol-Rockey Bay-RobertsCove- Minane-Bridge -Carrigaline-Riverstick-Belgooly-Kinsale (first half is coastal route on other side of Kinsale)

Probably another 10-15 more decent routes around Kinsale !
